    Hi all,
Just a quick bit of advice needed as hit a brick wall with barclaycard.
I put in a SAR a few weeks back, and they have sent it back today. Unfortunatley, they have only provided the statements for the card that I currently have with them, not the card that was closed in 2008.

I called their customer services, and they said my account had been 'purged'. I dont really know what that means, and they said they do not have the account number any more.

I have checked on equifax, and the last 4 digits are on there, but how do I now find out the rest?

Any replies will be a great help,
    Sally.
You could try with the last 4 digits that are there, most will find you from these.
On the Sar request did you ask for all info they held on you or just statements? this seems odd the account closed in 08 cannot be found.

    Hi Amersall,

Thanks for your reply. Yes I asked for all info, used the template SAR letter. Do you know what Purged is, or is that a delay tactic?

Do you think its worth sending in a claim with the last 4 digits, or is there any other way I can find the account number out? I have asked equifax, but they have not got back to me yet.

Don't want to just give up, as I had that card for years and almost certainly had PPI on it. (Bangs head!!) LOL.
  • Hi All,

I have had 2 seperate hire purchase agreements with Black Horse. Both have been paid off.
I was thinking about having a shot to see if I am due anything back on PPI - I'm not sure if I ever paid for it though. Is it worth going ahead and trying anyway?

I have a copy of the terms and conditions of the most recent hire purchase agreement, but not sure what I'm looking for. I don't have any of the details of what I have repaid and whether or not it included insurance. Do I need to know that I paid the insurance first before writing to Black Horse to try and claim what I might not actually be owed!?

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Phil
  • Hi everybody

Really struggling with a PPI claim took out a firstplus loan with Zenith Windows in 2003 for £6112.21 with PPI added on for £855.70 giving a total of £6967.91 i would never have needed PPI as i am covered for everything with my job at natwest and have only just realised. I have written to firstplus who said that because the loan and PPI were sold to me by Zenith there is nothing they can do, even though after the windows were put i never spoke to Zenith again just dealt with firstplus, not sure if/how i can proceed from here as Zenith have ceased trading. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

    Thanks Samantha

    Hi
Can i use a SAR letter to reclaim both PPI from my credit card and any bank debit card charges using the same SAR letter? Effectively only paying £10 once??

    Both accounts with HSBC.
My Credit card is now closed but i still use my debit card, will they close this as well if i reclaim?

Or is it easier to use a claim company?

Sorry to be a pain :o as I am doing this for family members and I dont want to mess up, In the questionaire to claim how is it best to put this across , the three loans she has are all then front loaded. She also said she felt pressured into signing for the ppi could this be a problem because she did sign?
I'm very gratful to everyone who spend so much of their time helping others on this site I cant beleive how many people have claimed because of you all .Well done.:)

:mad:I received a PPI refund from Northern Rock of over £1000 for a loan term of 60 months. They changed my loan account number at the time and I continued to make payments. Just made the last one (or so I thought) in March 2012 and they say, no, the payment I made shortly AFTER the refund was for the OLD account. The subsequent payments were for the NEW account and I still owe them one months money!! So this makes the loan terms 61 months! are they allowed to do this - or should I contact the ombudsman? I did not know I had the extra payment till they sent me the collection letter last week.
    BEWARE Northern Rock!

Hi, :o:o if you purge your bowels then you go to the toilet a lot :D:D

    Sorry :D:D:D
Looks like they have got rid of your data
"Purging" is often used in relations to the removal or shredding of documents or records. These documents can be soft copy such as database records, files or software; or it can be hard copy such as physical files, printed documents, hard disks, etc.
In many countries, laws require certain records to be stored for a specific period (usually 7 years).[2] They can be purged afterwards. Physical files are usually shredded.

Do the claim with the last 4 digits and see what they come back with.

Have you checked the original loan agreement for the first date that you made the payment, sometimes the 1st payment can be due one month after the date on the agreement.

Ask them for a list of all the payments that you made to this loan and tell them the account number was changed and to check that account number for those payments, this could just be a mistake on their part, or check your bank statements, if you have them going back that far to double check that you have made the 60 payments and not 61.
This is the only thing that I can think of that could have happened.
It could be also that the they gave you the last payment on the old loan in with the redress and then realised and have taken this back.
