You can complain but the further back in time you do, the less likely records are going to exist.

Do you have any evidence you had PPI?
Could it have been MIG or life assurance (people frequently mix them up)?

    PPI Party Pooper
Wife received a letter out of the blue a few months ago from Barclaycard relating to a credit card she had with SKY-it stated that they were looking into payment break facility that she had on it (imilar to PPI I think?). Filled out all the info we could remember and sent it back. Received another letter a few weeks later stating they would respond with full reply by w/ending 11th March and that it was linked to another credit card she had.
Anyone else received anything like this? Hopefully it will be a positive outcome-I kinda think it will if they approached her in the first instance.

Payment break is not similar to PPI, they are different products, both can be miss-sold. Them calling to sell you something doesn't mean it is miss-sold

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

  • Hi first time on here so just a question . I have got in touch with My Claim Solved based in Torquay they said i could claim back bank charges for having a select account which was abiut £5 per month . Anyway i said ok try . The next day i had a call from Lloyds telling me this company had got in touch . Two days later the rang saying yes they can pay me a set amount and it would go in the bank which it did. Now my question is do i still have to pay My Claims Solves the 30%+vat for this ? . Maybe a silly question but I need to ask before i hand it over thanks

Yes - you'll need to pay them their agreed fee on any redress.

I have seen it said on another forum that if no PPI premium has ever appeared on a statement then one has never had PPI. Is this true?

It would appear to be a logical conclusion.

Certainly credit card statements always itemised PPI on a separate line. General Bank statements would not list PPI unless the policy was paid for independently of the loan or mortgage attached to it.

However, it's a myth sponsored by Claim Companies that PPI was somehow "hidden" in the interest etc..
