Got a letter from a claims Co we used to claim back ppi a few years ago. Said we may have potential commission claim on a previous successful ppi claim (think near £4k).

Commission complaints only apply to rejections. If your complaint was upheld, you already got 100% of the redress. There is nothing else to refund.

Successful commission complaint only refund the excess commission over 50% of the premium. It is effectively a consolation prize for the losers.

They(NR) said that because it is a joint loan it needs both of us to sign the claim form before they look into it. Is that correct? I have seen other posts on the forum of people getting 50% from joint loans so does it depend what company you are claiming from?

They want both your signatures, there is no way around that no matter who you complain with.

Ok thanks, mind you that's weird why they'd send me a letter if they already know this anyway (and have been paid).

Just thought this must be something different.

It is probably a letter they have sent out to every single person on their list.

Ah right, mind you noticed they mentioned that it was a 25% fee exc vat, and had noticed that last July it was capped at 24% Inc vat, lol.
  • Hi I need some help I've always avoided trying to claim ppi back because I owe the companies but this is going back between 10 and 20 years. What would happen if I try to reclaim it and is it even possible
  • It's unlikely on accounts of that vintage.

But if your complaint was successful, it would reduce the amount you still owe.
  • Hi. I was (in my view) mis-sold an endowment mortgage back in 1991, I can see no mention on its paperwork of PPI or any of the other terms advised to look for. I did try to claim mis-selling a good few years ago but the claim was rejected. Does PPI cover an endowment mortgage sold when inappropriate ie one of us self employed and both on very low income?
  • Endowment mortgages aren't PPI.

Endowment policies cannot have PPI on them. its not possible.

MPPI could exist as a standalone alone plan but most MPPi covers the self employed with no issues.

if you were on low income, it would sound like the MPPi would have been a good idea rather than a bad one.
