Just a thought, is that before or after tax?

Does the bank say that or is that your own interpretation of the calculation?
I was wondering that as you would expect the mention of the period it was open to refer to the difference in interest. Not the 8% simple. So, has the poster misinterpreted the bit it relates to.

  • Hi,
Apologies if this is not posted correctly (I've not used forums much before).
I tried to claim PPI a few years ago with details of the companies from my credit report. I wrote letters directly to them and had a reply from Barclays with a balance of about £30 paid to me.
Now with the deadline approaching for the end of PPI, I thought I'd try again and signed up to a PPI company, they have sent me letters with other creditors they have found, which i had years ago and had completely forgotten about and which didn't also show on my credit report.
Do I now proceed with this company or try again with the companies directly, as they have located other creditors for me?
Of course the company will take a cut, which is why I initially tried myself a few years ago, but they have found potentially new creditors which isn't to say there is PPI. Please advise on what my next step would be? Thank you :)

read the T&Cs he claims company sent you regarding cancelling their services. You'll probably find they can bill you for 'services' rendered in the event you cancel your contract.

Also the loan they have partially repaid on is a different loan number to what i have claimed on. paid partial redress on another as it was refinanced

That is normal as early redemption usually sees the PPI refunded on a relatively pro-rata basis.
but refused to pay initial ppi as they claim to have sent a letter more than 3 years ago making me a wee of misold ppi, which I did it revive as i had cjanged address, i did ot i form black horse of this as i had no financial dealings with them at this time all loans were settled years previous.

Have you told them that you were not at the address they sent it to?

Did you buy them via Black Horse or via a car dealer, retailer or broker? Black Horse are only liable for the ones that they sell. Not the ones put in place by third parties.

If you are going to go back and advise that you were not at the address I would recommend that you provide them with some evidence of your address at the time they say they sent the letter as unlikely to accept without and will save going back and forth.
  • Hi
New to the forums so please go gentle if I am in the wrong place etc.

I have a PPI claim going through with Bank of Scotland.
They wrote to me on 22nd November last, advising they would have a response to me by 11th January 2019.
They then asked for more time, until 20th March, and have today asked to have until 20th April.
They never explain why this is. Is this normal for them?
Am I entitled to go to the Ombudsman at this point?

    Much appreciate any help.
    Thanks

You can, but it's likely to delay things.

    Leave it with them.

Whilst they’re still engaging and providing updates I would stick with them as whilst you CAN take it to the FOS, this will likely delay matters further.
