Probably due to the massive increase in large business sellers listing in that format.
Which also tends to prove that rather than leaving ebay, other profitable businesses with their own websites are moving onto ebay as well, and deciding to let ebay help themselves to some of it, and still having more than enough to go around.
It works for them, as the bottom line for eveyone is
"do you trust some random company thrown up on google, that could be a website knocked up in a kid's back bedroom, or do you buy off ebay, and have paypal to ensure you'll get the product, or your money back, and decent t&c's to keep sellers performing?"
Just bunging google a few quid to pop up on page 1 is no recommendation for me.
The chinese appear to have grasped it.0 -
Well I hate to say I told you so, but having seen the postal prices, my worst fears are confirmed. Buying something like say a new hairbrush BIN on ebay for 99p will cost THE SELLER £2.70 or 2.20 S/C postage and they will probably be swamped by all the cheaper low quality items from China in the search listings. This was the vein of my post, whether it be 1% or 10% or whatever - what a time for ebay totake that away from sellers.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise.
