Caz - the above flights are identical - one is booked directly thru Monarch, the other is the exactly the same Monarch flights booked thru Avios. Not BA flights.
Unfortunately the Avios website is poorly maintained so I can't actually view what I get for my 9000 Avios points.

And has anybody actually found and "purchased" any Aurigny flights to/from Channel Islands thru Avios?
Or is this another example of International Airlines Group "clever" (deceitful) arketing ploy?

Avios is a BA frequent flier program - is it really surprising that they therefore don't offer the best rates on competitors flights?

I've never seen IAG advertise about redeeming Avios for cheap Monarch flights so how exactly is this allegedly a "deceitful marketing ploy"?

And yes, you can find Aurigny flights with ease - the very first date I chose at random (14th May) found 12 flights from Guernsey to London - 6 of which are Auringny. Perhaps you should look a little harder next time before starting another pointless rant?

If you only want a specific place on a specific high demand date then AVIOS is not the place to go.
I have found the program fantastic.

States quite clearly in Avios marketing literature that Avios can be used on Monarch and Aurigny flights.
    Each to their own :)

Okay so ive checked over a 3 month period - NO Aurigny flights from Manchester to Guernsey at all. What it did offer?
Flybe Manchester to Edinburgh, then to Southhampton then Guernsey, for 27K points.
Or perhaps Manchester to Isle of Man, then Gatwick, then Guernsey? 27k points. 12 hours flight time.
    Stupid.

I'm having a look online & trying to see what flight options from Belfast or Dublin are.
I checked Tenerife, but with 2 stopovers making the journeys time over 17 hours, I stopped looking!

    same here Budgetflyer.

I'm off to Sydney with my dad First Class in a couple of weeks, all on Avios.

We went to St Lucia First Class last August all on Avios.

six of us to Nice in the summer holidays all on Avios and 5 of us to Orlando this summer, All on Avios!

    Plus a whole host more.
  • Hello, looking for a bit more info on how the 2000 bonus point scheme works please. I had a Lloyds TSB card a few years ago and got the bonus points for that. It seems to now show that I haven't collected Avios via Lloyds TSB.

I have a vague recollection that if you haven't used the collection method for over a year then you become eligible again? Does anyone know anything about this?

If this is the case then I assume that having made my last clubcard Avios purchase last July, that if I wait until August to exchange I will become eligible for another 2000 point bonus?

    Thanks

Hi I ill be spent ding approx £5k on a new kitchen soon & thought I should pay for it on a card to not only claim avios but for added buyer protection.
I have the cash to pay but would like to collect avios as its not often I spend large amounts.
What card would be best to maximise avios collected?
    Thanks

Some of the amex cards give up to 50k avios. They have a fee but lots of benefits too. Search avios on ebay

e-rewards definitely worth signing up for - I've just converted e-rewards earned in past year for 2000 Avios. The trick is to enter every survey they send you as even if you don't meet the criteria to complete the survey you get at least 25 points just for starting the survey. I get the impression that the more surveys you start the more they send you.
I can not see a way of converting eRewards points into Avios, can you help?
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.
