Morning everyone
Went to Mr T as I had a £5 off voucher from paper. Pleased with my shop last night I picked up the price drop leaflet in store and used that to get £3 off shop.
I also thought as I haven't been in for a while I would put a couple of items through first to see if I would get a money off coupon with my receipt. It worked and I got a £6 off a £40 spend :T
In total I got £14 off my shop very pleased. I spent £54.05 in Mr T's with all my discounts and I have also spent a forther £11.24 so in total £65.29 spent so far leaving me £334.71.0 -

Ooooh! Me likee! Just had a Google they look really funky, just my sort of thing. I do like the fold up one, that would be really useful. Do you think they are worth the price tag? Are they really tough and durable?BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -

A Rolser is what I have, one of the Plegmatic folding ones. It's REALLY tough. I've had it for nearly 3 years and abuse the heck out of it. It gets used for shopping, carting recycling (council don't collect from our flat) and general moving things around. I drag it up and down stairs and on public transport, it never complains. It's gotten a little bit dirty as to be expected in London, but it's otherwise in perfect condition. Nothing a clean couldn't fix if I bothered to do it.
What I don't like about it though is that the handle is quite chunky which is fine to hold but it won't hook onto the back of the trolley when folded. If I was to get another one now, I'd probably look at the newer "Pack" models as they've addressed this issue. I'm really tempted by the Pack Tour actually!0 -

Sometimes it's worth spending a bit more in the first place rather than ending up having to do multiple treatments which end up costing much more!MunniMuncha wrote: »Mummygems - how much does your mum put in the food and how often? Would love to try this with mine as I feel that either they have become immune to Fr*ntline Plus we give them or it is getting weaker, as they still get 'friends' even after being treated
I *think* they must've had to take something out of Front*line .... there's been a lot of people on the pets board saying it's not working - I used it for years and it was brilliant so it's a bit of a shame.
I tried Garlic with the dog as it apparently also helps prevent ticks (which are :eek::eek: and we unfortunately get loads of) - he was "front*lined" but as he went in water nearly everyday it had limited effect.
Unfortunately it upset his tummy (see comment below) .... so for anyone thinking of trying this, please introduce really gradually!
How the garlic works is that it makes their blood taste horrible (hence why it should work for both fleas & ticks).
Word of warning: Garlic is toxic to cats (especially) & dogs, so you must be really careful if you've giving this & the amounts...... it affects different breeds more/less, so may be worth some research if you're going to try this.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Spoke to my mum and she said she puts 1 small garlic capsule in the bowl then the meat on top and the meat dissolves the capsule and the garlic seeps into the meat! 1 capsule per bowl.
She did say that some of the cats have become wise to this and eat around the capsule lol. She said she uses a company called Medic Animal and gets something called Avantage (like spot on) for a lot lot less than the vets (4 0.8ml pipetes for £19).

I hadnt heard this (although I dont have pets myself). I think it was my mums vets that originally recommended the garlic! Will let her know.2 adults and 3 children DD (14), DD (12) & DS (10) :smileyhea and 2 mental beagles.

Loads of stuff about it is she does a search online - this is quite a good article (and not full of "vet talk") http://www.petsbynature.com/Garlic-Can-Be-Deadly.html and this one has quite a good list of foods that can cause problems for cats http://www.petplace.com/cats/dangerous-foods-are-they-harmful-to-your-cat/page1.aspx
ETA I think it's only fairly recently that the side effects have become apparent - a lot of vets used to recommend garlic as there was no evidence to suggest it might be harmful thenGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
