Adding 17p to my total spend so far :-)
Was actually £14.17, but got mayo half price and olive oil half price, so was only £9.17. Used some clubcard vouchers that i had in my purse, and only needed to use 17p :j
Got another two bottles of Enrituals washing liquid, has anyone else spotted this in MrT's?? £1.00 for a bottle, does 22 washes :j
I bought two at the weekend when I saw it, it was in a bottle shaped like the Ariel washing liquid. Thought it was fabric softener due to the £1.00 price tag, so bought two when I realised it was washing liquid. Was at a different mrT's today, and they had different bottles that were 'luxury' frangrances, more taller ones like the Surf liquid shape. No idea why it's in different bottles, but I bought another two :j Oh, and these taller bottles do 25 washes, still only £1 each xCan't think of anything smart to put here...0 -
Hi
I would like to join in for this month and am setting our budget at £300 for the first month as we run Saturday to Saturday and there are 5 this month. Hoping to come in less than this but as we have not done this in a long time I am not sure how much we are spending.0 -

Thanks for the thread and the support everyone. Going to use my signature as a record but my target is £425 for this month.
Kicked off with bread, milk, packed lunch stuff, onions and carrots from the co-op. £4.34 gone already.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
£10.27 at Mr T's today, but only gonna count £5.27, as £5 was on easter eggs, and this will come from a seperate budget. Got 1.5kg of strong white flour for 60p, which will do 3 loaves and a few garlic breads.
Used the last of my SSM Mocs, and gave 4 to my mum. Also wombled her a £3 off £20 spend, so she did really well.
Also need to add £1 for double cream that I got yesterday from Mr A's. Made daupenouis pots, and plenty left to freeze.
Gonna go to M&S tomorrow before the 25% off wine finishes, as I can get 6 bottles for £19 with mums SD card. Gonna get them while I can.
Looking in the Tesco price drop leaflet to see if I can combine those MOCs with some of my others, the aunt bessies look promising as the stuffing balls will be £1 soon, and I love these!!
Hope all are well, will catch up with posts when DS05 is in bed!!

Ooo, what's this rounding down about please? I'm curious!
Basically you pick a day in the week (same one each week - mine's a Saturday) and check your bank account and "round down" to the nearest £10 and transfer the difference to a savings pot (or similar).
Not the best at explaining so ....... eg log in and you have £236.74 sitting in your account - you'd take £6.74 and put it somewhere else, leaving your account balance at £230.
The first couple of weeks, my round downs were £8 something £9 something and I was a bit worried .... however, the next week it was only £1 something.
HTH:)
Just realised I've not filled in my spending diary for at least a fortnight:eek: - I'm not quite as disciplined about this now that I've got the spreadsheet (where everything does go) but I know how easy it is to totally go off track so really must make a start at it again.
Why is it that it takes years to build good habits - but days to break them!:oGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Eviening All!
I am going to aim for £350 again this month. It is my gc first birthday! In a year I have managed to get all monthly food, alcohol, takeaways, cleaning and nappies down from £450 upwards to £350 so I am happy. I can genuinely say how much better we eat now (organic fruit and veg once a fortnight and donald Russell meat etc) and for so much less. I have found it's all about changing my mindset with regard to sm's (ie I don't have to buy every so called offer and load my trolley each shop). I meal plan vigorously and nothing is wasted and most things stretched. Ds, dd and I bake every week which is lovely, and of course the support from everyone on here has helped massively. Not to mention all the excellent advice. So thanks one and all.
Coxy11 - my dd went as Anelina ballerina to world book day Which involved her ballet outfit and mouse ear headband and a nose which I made by pinching a water machine drinking cone from the library painting grey and sticking pipe cleaners through to make whiskers!

Oh my days - just spent the last 2 hours catching up on February's thread, only to come over here and see there are TEN pages here already:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Well I am setting my usual £250 for March (month 23 - 22) so am into a week of mine already. Have spent £180 already:eek:, but am stocked to the hilt, so hoping that most of it will come from MunniMart and just fresh fruit from [STRIKE]SM's[/STRIKE] local market/L*dl.
Mr T has sent me vouchers with a value of £39, for the next 6 weeks (one at £9 and 5 x £6 each for a £60 shop), but don't think I will be using them as am boycotting Mr T at the moment- can I give these to friends tho? Normally would have won me over and I would have been running to Mr T to 'save' my money, but not anymore, as my whole attitude to SM's has changed in the last 2 months.:D
now off to read the first 10 pages, before any more are added:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:When you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying!:rotfl:

I've got quite a few £5 off £50 ones but that's a lot for me to spend so think mine will be going "spare" too.
The only way someone else could use them would be if they had your clubcard too (bit of a pain - DM and I have got round this by having the wee keyring size card of each others cc's;))Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
