jaw drops as penny drops. I don't need to shop every Saturday. My mantra for March :T

  • I've had my first spends of the month and fell off the 'not buying stuff for home while doing school shopping' bandwagon. I paid £2.70 for milk and smoked mackrel yesterday (mackerel was for lunches),and 1,69 for two boxes off cereal (had vouchers and bogof) then DH didn't realise I was getting milk so bought some too and some coffee and reduced bread - I'm putting it down as £5 as he's forgotten how much it was.
Today was when temptation got the better of me, three packets of reduced fillet steak and 2 of angus burgers. In my defence the fillet steak was less than half price (around £3 for 2 marked down from around £7), I also got 2 blocks of organic cheddar for 74p. £12.50 in all.
I was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly :D

Hurrah, finally got the Oc@s0 20% off email, can do a weeks shopping now! Don't see how they get 20% with a £16 discount off £60 but I expect it works out...

Just had tasty HM Thai style cod fish cakes with sweet chilli dipping sauce, yum!

Well done NickJW, on being DF for a year and cig free for 2 months, and well done to all the other cig frees too!

Spend of £1.09 on more salad today :o, going shopping tomorrow, going with a friend, so not sure where we're going, but if its Mr T's I don't think I'll be getting much as I'm really not keen on their fruit and veg these days and that's what I need most of, would rather wait until Sat or Sun and go to Mr S as their stuff just seems to be much better quality.
But going to sit down and write next weeks meal plan and shopping list for it in a moment, just in case, the last thing I want to do is turn up at a SM without a list!

Went to Ald1 today to use my £5 off token spent £31. Bought fruit and veg and some salad. I am so impressed at their 49p salad bags. I got some chicken drumsticks reduced by 30% and made that into piri piri chicken. I had fake halloumi, with some mushrooms and red pepper from the bottom of the fridge and needed using up. I also made a few potato wedges with some baby new potatoes that needed using up. I had some yoghurt for afters (another ald1 favourite, the bio one with strawberries and whole grain @ 89p)

  • Popping in to report £1 on rogan josh curry sauce. I usually use paste, but they didn't have any so picked up a jar of sauce as it was for dinner tonight. It was on offer and lovely! I might pick up a couple more jars on my next shopping trip to have in the cupboard for CBA days.
