  • Happy St David's Day all!

I'm aiming for £125 for March please - did a monster shop this morning, hopefully will only need fruit veg and milk for next couple of weeks now.

Declaring at £105.22 for Feb - budget was £100 so I went over but I don't feel bad about it as the overspend was due to cake making ingredients as my littlie has developed a passion for cooking, so the overspend was in fact an investment in his future - he'll make a fabulous other half when he's grown!

Thanks to all who run the GC

hoping to come in under £400 this month could really do with
getting it lower but struggling to even manage that at the mo :(doesnt help that i'm currently spending £20 a wk on formula,
£10 on nappies and £6 on cat food so over 1/3 of the budget on just 3 items

small spends of £3.35 today=bread, 2 pks of painkillers 16pk reduce to 50p worth getting but the 2pks of bogof galaxy cake bars should have really stayed in the shop esp as i've eaten 3 already :naughty:cakes that is not pks lol

should only really need bread till next wk as there is enough stuff in for the weekend just gotta stay out of the shops why is that easier said then done?

thanks agian to all who keep this thread going & goodluck everyone

I have bought some things ahead as they're on offer, have never really done that before (duh!). Am also thinking what we'll need over the course of a month, rather than week to week, if that makes sense!

You should think about joining us over on the second purse challenge thread. You have another purse and buy items that you use regularly when they are on special offer and any profit you make goes back into the purse when you use that product, oh dear not explaining myself properly :o

Morning peeps! Happy St. David's Day plus Happy (through gritted teeth) World Book Day to all those parents struggling with costumes on the school run this morning :D

My dd school is having a book week in a couple of weeks time and she has to dress as a character from a fairytale, luckily we already have a cinderella costume so no more expense.

£200 for march for four adults and a dog - DH is adamant that there are only two days more in March than there were in February so why do we need a bigger budget?:mad:

we are a family of 4 adults , how do you manage on your budget ? mine is way over that and i struggle to keep to it - well done i am impressed :T

my 1st spend of the month today £33.49 in @ldi and £58.90 in sainsbugs -
should have enough for a week.
cooked some cocktail sausages and a gammon joint , which i need to slice , so we have some stuff for sandwiches ( the kids nibble on mini sausages) and ive made a loaf of bread

so spent £92.39 18% of budget to cover 26% of the month
    will up date my sig

Well dinner smells good. Was a bit worried as it was meant to be beef stew but for some reason I ordered pork  don't ask me why as I had always planned on beef stew. So I had to adapt it slightly. Hopefully it will taste as nice as it smells.

    Hi All

After a disappointing result in February (especially since it was a shorter month!), I'm hoping that March will improve.

As penance I am going to reduce my March target to £130. Hopefully I won't regret this decision at the end of the month, but TBH I have really stocked the freezer up so this will hopefully help! :o I'm okay just updating my signature Helen

I'm going on holiday in mid March so that will take away 5 days since that will be entertainment spends. All good because it's come out of my cigarette money. It's madness thinking about the money I've wasted over the years but a nice break makes me want to carry on. Off topic, but I have also realized it's also my 1 year 'anniversary' of being debt free! I'm feeling pretty good today I have to tell you! :)

Good luck all and thanks as always to the lovely volunteers who keep this thread (my favourite!) going.

spent 63.57 today between L*dl and @ldi, bit more than Iwanted to but L*dl had 24 Cushelle on offer still for £6.99 so got a pack (still had 24 left at home) but couldn't resist! - Must stick to list next couple of weeks. @ldi super 6 was fruit today so I stocked up for the next week and have meal planned for the week. Will try n help hubby with his healthy eating/weight loss this week. he finds it very hard as he is on a different shift pattern alternate weeks and I'm sure this doesn't help so I've told him that as he'son lates next week to have a light lunch before he goes (prob poached egg) then eat small regular meals/snacks throughout so his body doesn't feel starved and store the food) will give him small eve meal to heat up at work, lots of fruit, yoghurt to snack on. Time will tell if this works.
