i am quite upset by your comment , you do not know me! if you did you would know that i am very far from selfish, as all my life i have put others before myself!and i am not sure what you being the original poster has to do with anything, i was commenting on what someone else had mentioned about staff taking all the £1 items for themselves, if you had read through the thread properly maybe you would have noticed this, and this had actually come from a member of staff0 -
Thankyou AFM
I've just got back from Tescos and picked up a little extra whilst there, a jumper with shirt collar thingy for £3 and a top for £2. My order was suprisingly complete...I ordered it before seeing it posted here and thought it must be a glitch not an actual offer! 3 pairs of £1 shoes, two pairs of leggings and two tops for £10! They aren't the sort of shoes I'd usually wear (heels.. I'm 6ft already!) but having tried them on I love them so really happy.
If it helps others:
- I didn't need proof of address
- They didn't require the print out or even the order number (despite me waving them around crazily at the poor young man on the desk:D)
- They just wanted to see my bank card that I'd made the order with

The fact that I am the OP has everything to do with it as I was posting as a member of Tesco staff and was sharing information that I had found out at work. I certainly did read through the thread properly and as such know that you were the person who said that it was about time Tesco staff 'stopped doing as they pleased' and started treating customers with respect. If that means forgoing any bargains that come my way I certainly wont be treating someone like you 'respectfully'.0 -
everyone has a perk of their job, and most staff at supermarkets (which includes myself as i work at one of them) are on rubbish wage and at the end of the day if the staff at tesco are taking advantage and having first dibs then so be it, at the end of the day there will still be stuff for everyone else and you/we have no more right than they do to the items and the staff of the store should be able to pick up a bargain too.
i say thanks to the OP for pointing out the sale in the first place. If it wasnt for them you might have not even known about it, or found out too late.0 -
Thank you gladysrocker I was going to sainsbobs as it was last day of their 25 off but saw your thread the night before and stopped at tesco on way so glad I did got lots for my little girl ready to start play school next year. I was lucky enough to go to the last £1 sale and have to say the staff were fantastic this was at tesco chineham(not my local) but the 2 ladies doing the sale had the patience of a saint and were very good at handing us the bargains and when I went through the till the sa was such a lovely chap and was desperate for one of the white handbags for his wife so I went and got him one, made my day.0

Does anyone know how long it should take between despatch and arriving at store? I live 5 minutes from a massive Tescos warehouse and 4 minutes from the Tescos where I want to collect my 2 items - I got the despatch note yesterday but still not heard from the store????? Are they supposed to tell you when it arrives?
I keep saying I won't online shop anymore because of the pains of delivery but could not face the massive Tescos extra as I'm not good with crowds....and now I am still waiting for my order <sigh> Maybe the courier could not find it as with the earlier poster ha hahahahaha!!!
As for my tuppence on the staff buying stuff debate - it's like the Boots sale thread all over again - we are all very grateful for the staff giving us the heads up. Think how many staff these massive companies employ in the UK - of course they are customers too and there is NOT ONE PERSON ON HERE who can say they would not also take first dibs of sale stuff if they worked there so please stop scaring off these nice retail staff who share these lovely bargains with us!!!!Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!0 -
