Gentle hugs Mrs Hinge, I am with liltdiddylilt on this one.
If the parent is having a negative effect on your health and well being and dear Missy Hinge too, I would just back away, I know that is easy for me to say, but as you wrote after the funeral of your dear sister, in spite of the dis function around you through your growing up years and beyond you have created a wonderful loving family unit of your own, what was it your ex-SM said "well done kid"?, you have done good and you are worth more than Daddy H is prepared to give you:A:A. Try and take strength and love from all the good people in your life and just let all the others get on with being selfish, un-caring, self-centred or whatever endearing (not) character traits they have.

I hope that you manage to muster some spoons together and have a very happy Christmas.
    MM xx

I often wonder how I landed up in the family that I did and it took alot of therapy to realise that it is actually a very good thing to be nothing like them :o Thank you for reminding me of my SM and the pride she had for me at my darling big Sister's funeral. "you did good kidda" will be my mantra from now on.

And I strongly believe, through all the past history and my battles along the way I have done good. I have a lot to be proud of, a lot to be thankful for and 3 amazing children in the mix.

I was told by a very lovely lady a few years ago that I am me because of the battles I have faced and although at the time it was unbearable it has made me who I am and a much better person then I could of being. :A

Thankyou MM, I am saving some spoons today as I have to take Superman to a birthday party tonight at one of those giant indoor soft plays  I can see myself rescuing him a gazillion times in the ball pits and them rollie-roller things that my *ahem* backside is a bit to large :o

  • The saying 'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger' really is true flower. You, from what I have read are a fantastic person, an exceptional mum and considering the giant hurdles you and your family have to cross on a daily basis, I think you turned out pretty darn good considering. It is a fantastic thing to be nothing like the self-centred idiots you unfortunately grew up with. They reckon you can't choose your family. I happen to think differently. You chose DH and you chose to have 3 amazing children with him. That is all you need.

I have gone through a lot of things in my life that have shaped me as a person. I wish I could pass some of the knowledge (though not the experience) to you in order that you could look at life with the simplicity I apply to 90% of it (lets exclude Him here, as I genuinely believe Jelly is better for having him in her life and the jury is out on my personal requirements from him)... If something burns, don't touch it. If it doesn't feel right, don't do it, if they don't make you happy or they bring negativity, don't let them in. It takes a big shift in your emotions to allow you to do this. Not selfishness, self preservation. You have to take a good long look and figure out the things you do and don't need. Put your energy into the things that reward you. That's you and yours.

Hope you put your sexy knickers on and not the big girl pants if you're going to be flashing your bum at soft play? :rotfl:

    Hugs!!! xx

I'm sulking, Daddy Hinge has really upset me, I shouldn't be surprised he just needs to open his mouth and attempt to talk to me and he manages to make me cry. I have tried for the last 8 years to have some kind of relationship with him but I'm slowly realising it is like flogging a dead horse and maybe time to call it a day. :( We are like strangers, he doesn't know me and doesn't make any attempt to, when he rings all I get is how wonderful his new extended family are. When invited to visit he always has an excuse of being too busy.... too busy with his new family and adopted children and grandchildren and insists on telling me all the lovely details of their big family get together's. It's like a smack in the mouth every time he rings and Missy Hinge is really starting to notice that he isn't around and shows no interest in us :(:(

    Grumble grumble grumble

Mrs Hinge unfortunately some parents really suck mine included. The best thing about it is it makes you realise what you want to be as a parent to your own children which makes you fabulous :D

Naughty knickers firmly in the drawer for my child free night although by rough calculations and the law of murphy I am due a visit from Aunt Flo the same sort of time

I agree 100% Stripes, I'm sorry your parents suck also, there seems to be a pattern happening here.

How's the King? still itchy? Superman is celebrating, I made the mistake of saying today was the last day at school until after new year.... he thinks he gets a whole year of school :rotfl:

will battle that one in the new year :o

The bedrooms have been tidied, toys and clothing sorted, kitchen cleaned and tomorrow's lamb hotpot made, I've got my cake cooking and now I am going for a hot bath. Mr H has instructions to let me have a long lie in and there had better be flowers and a card at least or there will be tantrums!!
