There was an article in last Saturday's Guardian - http://money.guardian.co.uk/weekly/story/0,,2014791,00.html
New-look TVs fail the screen test
For some, they are the latest 'must-have' living room accessory, but are flat screen sets all they are cracked up to be?
How much HD content are you actually going to be watching in the near future? Money-savers, but you're going to pay out hundreds for an HD ready TV, and more for Sky HD, to watch what?
A few weeks ago I bought a Toshiba 32" widescreen CRT on eBay from someone who had just bought an LCD. Nothing wrong with the CRT, brilliant picture. £70. Isn't that real money-saving?0 -
We use our 26" LCD HD for freeview and for PC I wouldnt bother with SD on LCD it looks bad, even sky isnt brill tbh from what I seen on friends system. Freeview looks good, I suppose it really depends on how good the upscaling is on tv, I do have a good make, Samsung although I get a green flash every now and then on freeview0

Evesham have reduced a number of their LCD TVs. They seem to be very highly regarded on Avforums and other sites ( a colleague has just bought one and is very happy with it). The 32" is now down to £549 with free delivery, 3 yr warranty and 18 months interest free credit.
Lots of other good deals on the website. Some come with free dvd players and all come with wall mounting brackets. Link below:

. Only reply if you have bought an LCD & compared it in your own home NEXT TO a crt of which BOTH are properly set up. You would then have to agree with me or get a pair of glasses.
First off, I don't need your permission to make a post, secondly I do have a good quality LCD TV in my bedroom, it doesn't even come close to my CRT in my living room.
I have 20/20 vision, so may I suggest that it is you that is myopically challenged..:rolleyes:0 -

Not the cheapest but very highly rated, and all come with free mounting bracket, 0% finance and a 3 yr warranty apparently.0 -
bilbob wrote::eek: How much are you expecting to pay for 1080p, 37"+, brand name set exactly???
£1000 and up? Sounds about right to me! I know this is a money saving site, but you have to be realistic!
Yes i know about the realistic stuff
But i may sound like a turdburglar but.. few years back you be expected to pay £600 ish for a top end telly.. but nowadays it seems for a ""apparantly"" "good" TV we have to pay £1500 ish pound, which to me is pretty bad.
Anyhow back to point
My budget and this is pushing it believe it or not is 800 bob tho id prob pay a tad more for the 40W2000 second hand or something.
I have found one sort of within the budget but the people who are chipping in arent authorising it as they just think something will happen or rather anyhow here it is :
http://www.technikdirekt.de/main/en/lcd-plasma-tv/lcd-tv-ab46/122850/-/Article.html?fillspace=1
comes to about 800 quid delivered.
The company has good rep.
App some guy in UK had one with banding problems this company (in germany) collected and replaced faulty one free of charge.
Has everything u cud probably want 3 HDMi's 1080P ready.
Only thing that cud be a concern is the contrast so dark scenes may look too Dark
Heres original thread i found it on:
