Hello, mostly I lurk but I'd like to join in this one, if I may! I've just found a yarn bargain which I unsealed my pound coin pot to take advantage of ... so now I have £40 of yarn coming to me ~ with free postage :-) and I'm setting myself the challenge of knitting it up and selling the items I make to double the money in time for Christmas. I know it's not a short-term, quick money-spinner but it should keep me out of mischief for a bit and make my pound pot still count towards Christmas!Stash busting 2014 45 / 60 (balls of yarn)!

Hi Everyone,
I am terrible at keeping up with these threads - they go way to fast and I lose track.... however, I would love to join this! Can I do that?
I will be starting probably with about £50 but over a good few weeks! as I don't have the funds all in one! My idea is books - it may work, it may not... but its worth a try!!0 -

Yey i sold another double money item for £5 today
was the 2nd of 3 books i bought for £5 and the fiver was covered with the sale of book number 1 so thats another £5 profits for this sale
So that means i have:
purchased 53 items for £120.02
sold 11 items for £92.81 (after fees)
leaving me with 42 items and £27.21 to make before i'm in profit,
£147.23 to make for double money target.
Oh creeping ever closer to the profit sidewell until i buy more lol!

Just an update on what i've been doing.
I really need to open up my spreadsheet and get my books written up.
I have made probably in the region of £200 gross profit in the 3 weeks from 6/4/13. Sold the last bit of my stock from the auction in March and bought a load of stuff for carbooting last weekend, outlay was c£50, took £90 odd so not too bad. Got lots of stuff left over, just deciding what to do with it, job lot on eBay or do a charity carboot on Sunday.
I have ben hooked on yellow label shopping all week. I picked up 8 travel tubes of MacLeans toothpast at 30p a tube, 3 packs of Tesco's hacksaw blades for 26p a pack, 2x Oral-B toothbrush heads reduced from £18.39 to £4.59 (for no reason at all) and a Leapfrog AC Adapter for £1. All of which are on eBay for £30 profit but no bids as yet.
Really tempted to go over to Sheperd's auctions on Saturday. Their bailiff arm has been into a Chinese clothing importer by the looks of it. Loads of brand new clothes/shoes that would go well at a carboot.0 -
Thats excellent Kendall

I'm doing well, just sold the Oral-B toothbrush heads. I love that ker-ching noise the andriod eBay app makes!
Stuck the remainder of bits from the carboot on eBay for a tenner (what I paid for them) after picking a few bits out of it and sold half of it at carboot on Wednesday. Got an immediate watcher!
Which Auction you looking to go to? If you're as nervous as I was, listen on the webcast (if its through i-bidder), you'll get the gist of it. The myth of a twitch means a bid isn't true, auctioneers usually ask if you're bidding! I now bid people up for the sake of it. You'll need a deposit to bid (usually £100) but you get it back if you dont buy anything or can deduct your purchases from it. I usually limit myself to that £100, so I dont go too overboard. If things you buy dont work, stick them back in to auction. I also find that Saturday auctions are a bit more expensive and timed auctions can be ridiculously cheap. If you need any more help, drop me a message, I can review an auction catalogue for you if needed.
I don't actually think i've laid out that much money recently but have had a steady stream of income so I'm happy. Need to get back to making the big bucks though.0
