Im currently reading the Millionaire Challenge linked above, finding it very interesting and motivating, so thought i'd share :D

Im contantly thinking about my challenge but haven't got round to doing much yet :o

A lot like Blue cow ( welcome blue  ) i've got quite a bit of my own junk to clear out, so im trying to do that first. I have been spurred on to move it on a bit faster than i normally would so hopefully i will be good to go pretty soon :D

Oh interesting thread indeed :) reminds me of my millionaire plans i had when i was 17.........I must have been the only 18 yr old with £5K in the bank.......oh how it all went wrong :( I almost bought a house back then for £20K but decided i didn't want to be tied down - flipping ejit hahahahaha! anyway its not too late, am only 41 now :rotfl::rotfl:

Well Done on that profit Laine!

I (finally!) just worked out my profit for March on my Buy To Sell and made about £275 profit after travel expenses. Every penny got reinvested into the business to buy more stock. Think Im going to do 3-6 months of this before withdrawing a wage. March was month 1 so would be amazing to double profit 2 or 3 times in 6 months! Think once I hit £1000 profit 2 months on the bounce I'll start withdrawing £500 and have £500 for reinvesting each month.

Struggling to double my sales currently on 139/250 but I've got 2 bigguns listed in the past 2 weeks- between them they have about 400 variations but as I get more of them in my sales will go up.

I have also opened an eBay shop and signed up for the free month of selling pro so hopefully they will help too. Part of me wishes I could just have £1000 loan I could go and buy stock with, but the other part of me enjoys watching the business grow from nothing!

Such a good plan Nats :) Good Luck with the listings - hope you sell out in no time ;) and i am like you - i love to see something growing from nothing - its as well really cos am skint hahahaha!

Oh flip i can waffle! :o hope you're not all getting lots of emails from me posting!!

Just wanted to add i have just relisted a big box of avon perfumes i have on facebook and started listing them on BIN on ebay too but don't want to run up too many fees on there for listing ( i was selling the avon stuff at the market and doing quite well until i got sick again so have lots of it to sell) and I have 30 odd books listed on amazon now. Hopefully that little lot will get me some more cash in for zopa target :)

I am planning on adding a box of stuff a day onto facebook selling page if i can and have more books to amazon - just need them all to sell now :D

Have also agreed to do a craft sale with a friend on saturday and she has kindly said i can bring some of my stuff too so fingers crossed for that :D

Oh and i have another target - after spending all my amazon vouchers on a tablet (which is brilliant :)) I am now saving up for an office chair as i want to set up my spare room as a craft room/office - i have £40 in there again so far but would like to get that doubled to £80 at least :)

Well done on the bag find Lainee. Not bad for a day's work hey!!

Thanks for the welcome Moneyspider - planning to attack some of my junk and get it listed today!!! Unfortunately no facebook selling page in my area and I am not brave enough to set up my own! I have a lot to learn as have never sold books on amazon either - so will have to get that figured out when I get started.

Well done on your sales growth Natter. That is soooooo encouraging. If you don't mind me asking, where are you sourcing your stock? Is it wholesale or just bargains you are finding on your travels at carboots, charity shops, local sales for pick up etc.

I find it so exciting making money "from nothing" so to speak. When I do start I plan to have a £50 starting pot and see where that takes me. Will dip into the millionaire challenge thread tonight for a read. Thanks for the link. :D

    Whooooopppppieeeeeeee

I sold one of the books i bought for 25p for £25.50 :D Just about to go and post it off - will do some counting when i get back!!

I have also sold about 5 perfumes over the past week (but have been naughty and spent the money on craft stuff :o) I am trying to start working more on the craft side of things again and have decided to try and make this into a business. I have got a little bit carried away with buying things for it so i think i should scare myself by adding up what i have spent and add it to this challenge :)

Hi everyone - I'm back from Hungary! Was absolutely fabulous but as expected spent more than I'd planned so time to get back to some serious money making.

Wow Fairyclicks - you did so well with that book - haven't really got into books yet - another thing to try later.

Hopefully weather will clear up a bit this weekend so that I can do a bootsale or two and will have to re-list a couple of items on eBay. Have been doing clicks on Superpoints and nearly at my first target of 1,000 points. Going to take it slowly as feeling a bit spaced out at present.

My part-time job is going to finish soon (mid May) so either need to get another or earn sufficient income elsewhere. Can't do the gardening at present as too wet.

Haven't done any craft for a month - can't get into it for some reason although am going to a craft group tonight so hopefully that will re-invigorate me.

    Hope you're all keeping well.:)

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Hi Everyone – I am starting my own money doubling adventure at the moment so thought I will join in here as I have been following this thread with interest.

What I am doing is buying antiques/collectables/jewellery etc cleaning and renovating and then selling at local boot sales, flea markets or antique fairs. I will not be selling on eBay if I can help it as I hate it even though it’s the most profitable place to sell these types of things.

I am starting with £70 of stuff that I bought from an auction a couple of weeks ago and hope to turn that into £140 by the end of the month. The main challenge for me is going to be to use all of the £140 when I have it to buy more stock and double again without spending it on anything else. Just to see how long I can keep this going for.
Thank-you to everyone who posts comps

After visiting 2 of the flea markets I was thinking of selling at yesterday have decided that I will have to start with ebay so I have listed my first batch of things for sale to start this evening. Does anyone know if ending auctions early evening on a Sunday is still the best time?

I don't have enough stock yet to sell at an antiques fair.
Thank-you to everyone who posts comps

    Options;
1- I get paid every 4 weeks , so in the 4 weeks I would like to double 1 weeks wages which averages £200.
    or
    2. My DS girlfriend wants to raise some extra cash too so we have been talking about putting in a small amount (£20) each and finding stuff to sell on ebay, we have discussed a few different options on what to buy.

I could even combine the 2 as I have goods of my own to sell.Or would that get too confusing lol.
Fiscal Fast = 7 NSD out of 9 days
    Avoiding the BIG4 = 12 days :) beg 5/5/12
    Shracknel & Road Kill Jar=£7.49 :j
All that i ask is a chance to prove that money wouldn't make me happy.
  • Welcome TrueBlonde :D

How i first got started was using the simple method of buy it for £1 and sell it for £2 ect...so when visiting carboots / charity shops i alway worked to this basic guildline.

Another thing i did was just browse ebay looking up stuff i already had just to see what kind of prices normal things fetch, random things, not just the things i thought would be worth money by doing this i found out that my old viners cutlery set fetches excellent money, and i never knew :) and while browse to buy a new kettle i saw someone selling a old 70s/80s morphy richards kettle, granted that one was really as new but it finally sold for just under £160  ive since bought 2 of these from the carboot for 50p & £1 and although both were well used and had lime scale they fetched £30 to 40 quid each :D

Like anything you have got to do some homework and study.

What sort of things are you thinking of selling?
Personally i dont bother with clothes much, shoes on the other hand i find sell well, work boots, dr martens, named trainers, leather comfy sandals ect.

    Good luck with your venture:)
