  • Just found this thread - looks great!

Will have a rake around this weekend to try to generate funds for a starting float and see how it goes.

Incidentally, there was a brilliant episode of Lovejoy the other day where to help out an old friend he started off with a couple of quid and traded up over the day to a couple of grand. It was clearly fiction, but THAT would be something! Anyone ever come close to that? Not over a day!

  • Lots of great ideas in this thread.
I'm new to couponing and will try doubling them on my next shopping trip.

Just adding my ebay sale now i have posted it :)

    So calculations so far are:

    Spent

    £2 for 8 books - 3 sold for £4.70 (after fees & postage deducted)
    £3 for 3 clothes items - 1 sold for £2.42
    £2 for 8 books
50p for 1 incense tin - sold for -16p (after fees & postage deducted)

Total Spent = £7.50 so target is £15 - so far i have made £6.96 - at least i am almost at the point of getting my initial money back now, (just 54p to go to break even) i have been very slow about adding things to ebay but they are selling once i get them on there which is a good sign :). So i still have 13 books and 1 jacket i bought - i can't for the life of me remember what the other clothes item was :o. The only thing i haven't made double on is the incense tin and that was because i calculated the postage wrong.

Plan for next week is to do something with all the books - i will check trade in prices and list them for sale on ebay and amazon and see how i get on. I am itching to go and buy more things but i have so much in the house already i want to concentrate mostly on selling that and paying it into my zopa account :)

You can trade in books on amazon if they are textbooks and you can try zapper as well.

Need to decide how to go about becoming a millionaire! Concentrate on 1 project or have fingers in many pies as some strange people say? What does everyone think?

  • Hi everyone!

I've been reading everyone's posts and would like to know - for those of you who buy from charity shops and then re-sell on ebay/amazon, how do you know that what you're buying will actually sell? I've noticed a lot of adverts on tv for ebay and promotions for free listings. Is this because it isn't as popular as it was in the past? It did put me off even bothering but since reading everyone's successes on here, i'm feeling quite positive about it! Maybe I'll have a rummage through some charity shops over the weekend!
