Old girl going sounds like losing your granny - and Alfie's an angel. I'm feeling quite dewy eyed. Hugs to you both.
Thanks for the comments about the field guys. We've taken some counsel and will give making some hay ourselves a trial run. We have the contacts now so it may end up with us being in pocket. It's worth it for the experience if nothing else. If there's any money in it, it might pay for some stock fencing and we could then let the field to be grazed (sheep, probably- we are in Wales!) while we ponder what's next.0 -
Joy!!!!!:j Mr Dog's house is on the market!
The bad news is that it's at a totally unrealistic price.
The agent has obviously had the photos a while, but as I run a Rightmove on our postcode regularly, I know it wasn't there a fortnight ago.
So, why is he doing all this work? :think:Curiouser and curiouser!
I was down at that end yesterday. Looking at where the Openreach surveyor placed the marker for the new pole, it seems inevitable that the only way to reach Mr Dog's place with the wires will be through his largest tree! Didn't spot that at the time, as I was only looking at where we needed it to be to avoid other neighbour's septic tank run-out. Hmmm... I think this one could run and run....:rotfl:0 -
ooo this might be a thorn in mr Dog's side then, as he will have to declare this to potential buyers yes???Work to live= not live to work0

I think Dave would rather hope that it wouldn't. Any 'neighbour issues' would tend to put me off as a prospective buyer.0 -

No, it's not a dispute....well not yet anyway! :rotfl:....And even if it was, it would be with Openreach, not us. We are very careful not to be in dispute with anyone, on paper.
However we'll have to watch what happens carefully, as the local contractor for said company is, allegedly, a mate of Mr Dog. This is presumably how/why the pole was moved here surreptitiously, under the guise of repairs following a lightning strike. There was a strike, but it didn't necessitate moving the pole.
But I'm puzzled and not jumping to too many conclusions yet. Having taken the van out this morning, (van allows vision over Mr D's massive gates) I know some guys are screwing a medium sized conservatory to his house right now. Why do all that and not even wait to get the photos on Rightmove?
Could be the agent has made a boob. He seems to have put his entire database on Rightmove's update today. I know things are bad, but.........:think:0 -
I did a search on home.co.uk with a 4 mile radius taking in the area around here.
Bearing in mind about 1/3 of the total area then contains sea (so not many properties in that) there are currently 80 listed.
That's an enormous percentage of this little area.
I tried again within a 2 mile radius (about 50% water this time) & it still came up with 12.
I think everyone is peed off with the weather & wants out :rotfl:
One 2-bed apartment (275k) seems to be Sold STC after more than 2 years trying.
Edit: I thought 2 years was wrong so I checked. The details say 2011 on the site but the flats were done in 2003/4. 10 years trying to sell _pale_0
