As Alfie may not be 'switched on' till this evening, I will hazard a guess that it's this:

    http://www.6-x.co.uk/

which isn't to be confused with this:

    http://www.6xale.co.uk/

although, thinking about it, I could probably be persuaded convert the latter into low grade fertilizer! :D:o

Yesterday was the perfect day to target individual weeds in the fields, so with a heavy heart I donned the backpack sprayer and trudged off to do one of the most boring jobs I know. Five hours later, I'd just finished the top field when Pete rang for the first time in months. Could we take 19 young sheep.....like now? :(

Fortunately, the bottom field was still untouched, so we put them in there. We can move them over in a week or so, then I can have another boring 3 hours on the bottom field.

Every year I'm using less chemicals. The whole of the top field cost about £4 to treat, so probably £6 for the lot. I only target docks, thistles and ragwort, plus the odd bramble that escapes from the hedge, so the vast majority of the area is unsprayed.

Pete will be coming to fence the rough area I want as copse soon. Meanwhile, the sheep will be doing a good job of eating the grass down there and saving me a job. These aren't the most attractive looking sheep, especially as they are coming up for being sheared, but they looked really pleased to be back, rushing around, apparently trying to sample grass from all the different areas. :)

Dave have you thought about listening to a recorded book while you work? Admittedly it would not do much to make the job better but it would fill the time.

The weather here is awful and I am doubting that I will get out in the garden yet again :( however I will keep the greenhouse watered and I have a room to decorate in the house so plenty to do.

Todays plan is to sandpaper the walls and wash them down with sugar soap. Does the fun never stop :rotfl:

    LIR - I had a thought (I do occasionally :o).
Having had more experience with working with running water than I'd probably have chosen, be careful if using a bath cascade. They can look pretty but, unless you want to wait ages for the bath to fill, the water is likely to bounce off in all directions if run at full pelt.

Nothing at all interesting to report from here. Moved some fencing (took down an old stretch & put up new in a different place), planted some salad stuff in raised beds, did bits of general tidying & tried to make a start on ponds but they're alive with tadpoles so gave that up for now :rotfl:
So just normal everyday boring stuff, really.

Wrapped my ribs round a fence post :o so, my back having just got over the last bout of fencing, I've now moved the problems round to the front :o:rotfl:

:D Thanks, pink poppy. I've been reading the posts - I've just had nothing worthwhile to report.

    My back is OK now, thanks. It's the L side/front I've now b*ggered :o:)
I think, hopefully, it's just another muscular thing so should improve over the next week or so. I really shouldn't have tried wiggling out a fence post that 2 brawny lads had just put (solidly) in the wrong place. My own fault. I tend to forget that I can't do the things I could 20 years ago :o

    I've been Money Tipped!
It's me I am sorry you are sore. I have been ok, but had an incident a clue of days ago which reached crescendo last night when I was unable to move my right leg at all, but really needed a piddle! I was awake most of the night, but it feels much strong this afternoon. I also think I have developed rosacea. Grrrr.

:D Thanks, CTC .............. we've had sunshine (clouded over now with some rain due tomorrow) but it still isn't what I would call warm. We may hit the dizzy heights of 19 degrees around the 24th. I could even shelve the fleece & get down to 2 layers then :rotfl:
