L
If we lived closer then maybe, but it took us 3 hours to get here ( ok this was doing around 50mph, due to caravan and conditions etc).
Plus the seven bridge fees.. its as broad as it is long..
Think we will def do this type of show again... just got to be more profesional:rotfl::D
I think there is 3 or 4 craft events in this venue a year ( diff organisers) so might be worth trying to do all of them ( if there is room to book, and we can justify the stall costs, this one is the cheapest out of the lot of them:eek:)... and build up a customer base.. as loads of people were asking if we are going to the other shows...
Molly.. funny enough I was looking/talking about websites this week, BUT it wasn't about a fabric one.. it had more in common with my nylon knickers:cool::rotfl::rotfl::D:D( well not my ones as such... but.. but.. ones that i own...and....and... well.... I sell..... ooooo heck this is getting to sound worse as I go on:p)Work to live= not live to work0 -
I expect CTC will be pretty tired. The first day of anything is always stressful.
With the weather being so good and the prospect of only more poo to come, DW and I took the day off. We headed for Crediton, where we intended to buy fish 'n chips from our favourite chippie, then head out to some local parkland to eat it and have a short walk in the snow.
All the best laid plans.......The chippie was mysteriously closed, but being adaptable, we decided to nip over to Tiverton to our second favourite chippie. That was a 12 mile drive through some very pretty scenery, and quite a bit more snow than we've had.
We stopped to take a photo and met a farmer who was touring to check his sheep, which are all over that area. He told me the view I was taking had been used in a lot of advertising, including that of the company we'd just dropped into in Crediton. We chatted for some time, as he was much more talkative when he learned we were also looking after a few sheep.
Anyway, the upshot was that we got to Tiverton at 1.30pm - a bit late.:o I'm not sure if the chippie there had actually been open at all, because the whole pavement in front of it had been taken up and men were laying a huge gas main. Even from a distance, it was obvious that it was closed!
We could have gone to a pub or cafe, but we both wanted 'proper' fish 'n chips, so in the end we just had a Morrison's sandwich on the way home! :rotfl:0 -
So glad it's gone OK CTC and that you're going to cover your costs. :T
Bit of a learning curve by the sound of it, but no experience like that is ever wasted.;)
You'll be able to really clean up next time!:beer:0 -

Hi Davesnave, ye we knew it was going to be a gamble( expensive one), a suck it and see type thing.... but as you say def a learning curve, and one we can adjust and built on... the main thing is wasnt a total out and out flop...where no one bought...We have a good concept..so basically it would be good to establish ourselves quickly within the craft market, ( rhiwie and alfie have seen our place, and know how hard our main stream business line is getting...)
A morrisons sandwich will not satisfy the craving for fish and chips... you will be thinking of nothing else now, until you have some:rotfl:Work to live= not live to work0 -

Great stuff CTC - you will always learn as you go along, but sounds like you have what folks want. That's the main thing.
Mr Choille had Physio appointment today - been waiting hobbling since September & getting really lame. I went into town to get sheep feed but shut due to a family bereavement. As it's a bad forecast for heavy snow we headed across country to get stores in.
First baby goat seen this year - my that's early & it's so cold, but they are wee toughies. Amazing thing nature.
Got the remainder of our roofing delivered at last. Too cold & freezing to get it on, but it's here at last.
Head of some amazing huge old oak wood that's been in the sea a decade. Went to see it - it's gorgeous. I want it all for landscaping - rust marks & barnacles an all - 50p @ foot 4" thick X 11" wide X 30foot long - will make amazing raised beds & a pond edge & a bench & steps and .....and.....and......I want, I want, I want.......IT ALL, but that would be greedy.0 -

Sharply cold here, colder than it has been recently.
No water in the yard troughs, so opened up the saved grazing for the trough out there.0
