Went out earlier after gritting the hill road and posted parcels etc no trouble. But just tried again to avoid trying to get a courier and we have near blizzard conditions and roads starting to get dicey, so turned back after a few hundred yards, just not worth the risk of tackling the hills on the A48.
Hope you're ok CTC, don't like this weather at all
_pale_ I didn't send it on purpose, honest.:rotfl:
It's eased off again here now but tis a girt black cloud that went over your way.
There's been some nasty weather on the M5 but, hopefully, if CTC set off at 9 this morning they'll have got to their destination before the worst of it came in again.
Mind you, that may mean they are sitting in a field somewhere surrounded by snow. I've no idea where they park up the caravans.
It is getting bit tedious now but I'd rather have this than the rain, mud, floods which are waiting in the queue.0 -
:rotfl:helllooooo
well CTC and DH made it.:D
made me laugh...they feel like hill billies cos all the other stalls look very proffesional... but i said thiers is the stall id head for, not la di da
CTC's boots are leaking and the caravan hook up power isnt working...:o
but if theres wifi in the cafe , will try and post later....:D
apart from that, ive had tooth fixed but have to have another out... its the one that keeps kicking offapparently a wisdom tooth and "well, you dont need it " sort of sealed the deal....:(
i got my washing dried at the marina dryers but one was not working aswell so have to dry them off a bit more, i had no more change to re do ...
ive got a beef stew in the oven for later

It seems that the snow/rain/ice is very local.
12 inches of snow at Princetown apparently but chucking it on the south side of the moor. More snow in east Devon!
None here today but expecting a load Friday afternoon, just in time to scramble the weekend. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
I got the latest issue of The Land recently http://www.thelandmagazine.org.uk and there were a few things worth passing on.
There is are a couple of interesting courses; one on small farm uses for horses which appears to be hands-on at Chagford http://www.chagfood.org.uk/pony-power/and the annual scything session at Monkton Wyld Court.
Both set up also import equipment (Austrian scythes and horse drawn kit but would still be worth looking at to assess the viability.
The magazine also had an interesting article on a viable diary set-up based on 6-10 cows using rented land only http://northastondairy.blogspot.co.uk/ although they have not blogged in a while! If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
guess who's got free wi fi:beer::beer::beer::beer:
thanks alfie for updating peeps:beer::beer:
the electric is now fixed ( they had to open the main box and switch it on ...so central heating is on HIGH;):D It will help air the caravan out...even the duvets, quilts and flannelette sheets are cold and damp, so warming them up on the rad.
some poor person has put the seats down and is sleeping in the back of the car:eek::eek:
Snowed this afternoon, but is now raining...
journey down was ok.. but I was all on edge, but calmed down by the time we got here...
Alfie when have you got to go back to have the tooth out?Work to live= not live to work0 -
Great to hear you made it safely, CTC & the electricity is sorted.
Do dentists do wisdom teeth now? Used to be a hospital job ..... but I'm wildly out of touch with such things.0 -

If it's wobbly I think a dentist could do it, alfie. Don't worry.
Once upon a time a wobbly tooth would have been a string round a door handle jobAnyone else remember that method?

Eeee you were lucky. A door handle? In my day we had to tie the string round a brick
