My guess is they will arrive tomorrow now:)I hope not..... We have literally dozens of things to move/plant and it won't be just this month either! Seriously, they will never know if you do it now.
Did the seeds arrive? I sent them last Wednesday.
Sorry to hear about your loss, alfie. The Outlaws have one of those beeping sensors on their property and it works well for them, but it's not an entrance animals use. OTOH, our friend has just installed one, and the neighbourhood moggies are ruining her beauty sleep.
No easy answers I fear. Letting Bimble & Co roam there at night is as good as you'll get, I suspect.0 -
The weather here is dull but dry so I am finally planting up my lavender hedge today :j
I have asked my OH if he will dig over the bramble bit as I am really struggling to get them out

Nice one, CTC. I would like to set up a blog and get away from the evils of Facebook which I spend rather too much time on although I have a bit of a love hate relationship with it so would prefer not to be so hooked in. Problem is I've just got got any extra time at the mo. Maybe next month when the girls have started nursery?COOLTRIKERCHICK wrote: »LOL....I am on a mission this morning to see what stuff i can get for free:rotfl: Even though i have allways been a bit of a thrifty magpie for collecting stuff, Alfie just brought me back on track with a nice email....
anyway came across this site, where you can get free seeds for blogging about gardening, growing etc..
http://vegblogs.co.uk/
its basically a blog platform set up by vegetableseeds.net, which are really, really cheap seeds ( dont if they are the cheap seed people on ebay?)
If you like blogging etc.... its a good way of getting some freebie seeds..... but you do need to blog regular by the looks of it....
Think i will sign up, as it will be a good way to do a step by step progress on the new place....:D
I want to do a nice wigwam of sweet peas, am i too late to start sowing sweet peas?
Thanks for reminding me about this. We'll have quite a bit of carpet to pull up as the floors are all being relayed for the underfloor heating. Problem is my OH whp seems to come up with an annoying block to most of my efforts to salvage things (grr!) He thinks that the chemicals in the carpet might contaminate the ground/plants. He's just started to read the Earth Care permaculture book and is suddenly an expertItismehonest wrote: »Old carpet is brilliant as a suppressor. In autumn we use it to cover anywhere we don't want to get overgrown before the spring or anywhere we want to newly dig the following year.
We have some largish raised beds we want to plant up soon & they've sat happily under their carpet cover all winter.

Well, today has been good, not huge amount done, but so warm!
We actively decided not to cut the grass but to lounge with soft drinks on the grass instead this afternoon. Much needed!0 -
CTC, still got a big smile on my face that you made it to the pot of gold under the rainbow. Enjoy the feeling, time for all the work and money later.
Alf, do they still string up thieves in the New Forest, and are gin traps banned yet?
Sundays have turned into car boot and Ebay finish days. When else could you sell a Voltaire mask (car boot), a rare Robinson Crusoe book (car boot) and a Dinky toy for £200+? :j (Ebay). Still in a state of shock

Excellent Rhiwfield - My goodness, I have never sold anything for that amount - great stuff.
Rain blew through here all day & the wind was really cold so lolled about in the caravan all day & snoozed this afternoon - lazy Sunday.
Having beef olives for Tea so looking forward to that & then boring letters to write this evening that could have been attended to earlier on, but leave to last minute ones IYSWIM.0 -
Gosh, you've all been so busy. 'My boys' rotavated the veg beds today and we had a bonfire. My mums in hospital so had to go south to visit her. CCs have taken a beating so a bit fed up.

Very warm here too, but I cut ours
with the 'self propelled' mower Pete gave me; that's the one I must push! Well, I cut until the bolts fixing the motor to the deck undid themselves, anyway.....
Great result! I don't suppose the Dinky toy was the 1950s dustcart? As I recall, that became very sought after. I'm not surprised, because its popularity with kids was zilch! It was the Dinky toy you prayed your aunt wouldn't buy you for Christmas. :rotfl:Sundays have turned into car boot and Ebay finish days.
