    What a pain, Davesnave :(

Good neighbours are priceless, bad neighbours are a total PITA.

Alf, thanks for the heads up on the firedogs, my QC checked after Masterchef and found an error in another listing as well :o. Listed an old route map this evening, 10 minutes later its off to the States for £25 :j. BTW, Aberaeron going well, knew some would do well but you need two people to want it. Expect a small package shortly to keep you cheerful.

    Clearing decks today, badly needed!!

We viewed this property early in 2009:

    http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-36974840.html?utm_content=ealertspropertyimage&utm_medium=email&utm_source=emailupdates&utm_campaign=emailupdatesjun11&utm_term=buying&sc_id=3871858&onetime_FromEmail=true

It had some appeal, but it needed a lot of work. We thought £300k

    They thought £375k.

Seems we were both wrong.

Wow. What a great buy that could be. Be a great place for a plants man, no?

It's difficult to comment on the other issue without knowing what you want to edit later. Fwiw, My big dog is not meant to be walked at all. We chose to exercise her even though we know it will potentially shorten her life, because a short life is better than not being a dog at all IMO.

ATM NONE of mine are getting walked. Pup nopt safe yet, dog dog broken leg and big dog......just a mess. But they got barely a walk through summer....a run round the fields most mornings and that's it. Makes me feel terrible.

Re noise, out door kennels and runs used to be much more common, I hear the neighbours at the other end of the road from me, they are in out door run. Oh, and in the last place my neighbours two miles away had a dozen in out door kennels, acroos the valley, so
Theirs would start, then ours would if they were out.

Incessant barking is extremely wearing, Not good for anyone including them, but some IMO, fro
M out door kennels, has to be like rooster keeping....not appropriate in town centres but to be expected in rurality. But what you have sounds, way, way, way, beyond that.

    Details here.
Love the way it states Vacant Possession :rotfl:

Bad neighbours ruin even the most beautiful places. Incessant dog barking is like physops - physcological warfare that was deployed in Vietnam - drives you nuts.

We had two land hearings that I called here because of a couple of neighbours being very crooked regarding commons. I've been made out to be the prob, but they underestimated my persistence in Miss Marple techniques & perserverence & I uncovered their lies & attempted fraud, but it takes a toll on your health & energy. We've had such shoite off these people for 4 years & the impact has been huge. If our house had been finished I would of sold up & gone as it's been such Hell.

I don't know if we can get on with our lives here as they've tainted so many aspects. It's so sad & so wrong. I don't like what they've turned me into - a complainer, a letter writer, a contacter of MSPs & such. I've wasted so much time trying to get them curtailed it's eaten into our own lives. Some people are so greedy & so selfish & nasty I don't get my head around it. Rant over.......it's raining again.

I can tell from what you've written, that you know exactly what I mean, choille. "Eating into our lives" is a brilliant way of putting it.

While this holding is pretty good in many respects, I've only recently come to bond with it in a meaningful way, because it was not my willing choice. It was just a 'buy it, tart it and flog it' job, purchased because .......edit... Again, more psychological pressure. :(

Now, I actually like it here, when it's quiet, but spend another £100k on it? Go through all the upheaval?

Like you, I don't like what this is doing to me. I've lived most of my adult life like that bloke in 'Apocalypse Now,' with all hell going on around me and no awareness. It was only in the last few years of work that I saw all the bullying that was going on, and only then because something happened right in front of me. I'm not very tough, but maybe worms can turn and also keep their sense of proportion .... At the moment I feel like the lawn worm in a blackbird's beak...... a bit stretched! :rotfl:
  • Yes, it eats away at you, makes you miserable, snappy & often ill & can eventually ruin your entire enjoyment of life. :(

I think it happens to almost everyone who thinks they may have found their dream.
The problem is that everyone's dream is different & reflects our individual, whether we like it or not, often selfish ideas of what perfection is.

It happens for city dwellers & countryfolk alike.
Short of finding our own desert islands (when we'd probably quickly get riled by wildlife or some other factor :rotfl:) there's no perfect idyll which doesn't involve a lot of compromises by several people.
You compromise for as long as you can & when you really run out of patience it's time to move on...... if you can actually sell in this market as we've found :rotfl:

    hi all,

i have drawn the conclusion that the miserable greedy people in this world end up with miserable lives. i have a very wealthy friend who whilst we were sat poolside at thier villa in majorca said to me "i envy you your life... everything you have is by your own perseverance and you enjoy fully what you DO have"...i said "but you have such beautifull things", she said " money does not buy you happiness, it just fills spaces" i was quite surprised as they both started at the bottom and earnt thier money. but she said it just gives you false friends who all want something in the end from you....people who think they can be taken for a ride and people who think they shouldnt have what they have.. we get on well cos i never ask for anything, her friendship is all.

i have never knowingly insulted/upset/taken for granted anyone.
i treat people how i would like to be treated.

my on going "battle" with my land agent seems small fry to your probs !

i just wish i could be left alone but in this world there are always the non-thinkers who do not realise how thier actions can effect others.

but im a strong believer that what goes round comes round and have seen this in my lifetime happen to the most deserving selfish ignorant morons :D:D and laughed my butt off :D
