    i have a dilema.....
iv been asked if i can take a poor,12yr old TB mare. shes in a sorry state... ex racer then 4 yrs being left to her own devises... hat rack !!

my heart says YES, my brain says yes.....i mean no.......i dunno !
Aw, bless, Alfie. I'd be hopeless in your situation. I'm a little worried what might happen once we have some livestock and we're offered more. I'll find it so hard to say no to a sad case.

:eek::eek: my likkle kangoo averages 55miles per G....

...And our big van gets at least 30mpg, even on a stop/start sort of day.

Unfortunately, although our medium MPV gets at least 45, it will be changed, because it's going to be dire if we attach a trailer to it. As I said to DW the other day, "Motoring may be economical in this thing, but it's dull and the van feels so much quicker!" :(
  • Alfie.... do you need it? you dont need biskwits, but you have them, because you like them:D;) does that answer your question:D

Tortie is going to vet tomrrow morning.... but she is looking sooooooooooooooo much better in even less than a week...

Eldest got pulled by the police:mad::mad::mad: and started being arsey with him, as he is a young kid:mad::mad::mad:

cut a long story short eldest phoned me to speak to the copper, something about wanting to know who the insurance was with, and did they know the car had been modified????? dont know who the insurers are, as all the docs are in work, anyway put hubby on the phone to speak to him, as I havent got a clue about cars... and he said the sticker that covers his bonnet is a 'modification' and some other bits and pieces, he had an alledged ilegal tyre ( not to be used on the road) bulloxs!!! he had that fitted today... and to top it all they said he had to come straight home, and the girl in the car had to walk home:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: and the car that they had pulled earlier, they guy didnt have any insurance, and they drove him to work ( he was on his way to work)

They did say they would phone his insurance company in the morning, and ask them if the so called modifications have been declared,,,

Bl00dy kids.... If my eldest gets his insurance cancelled I am really going to go to town with this copper, and letting a young girl walk home on her own, and harrassment to my son...

They should be out finding proper criminals, not picking on young kids....

I am having a stressfull week as it is, and not looking forward to some work related things etc...Any more I think will just tip me over the edge...:o:o:o

apart from that shop doing well for the first week:T

We have a TB living in the field next to us here. I think he's the wrong side of 30. Not sure how his owner keeps him going, or whether it's the other way round. :)

CTC, get in first and phone the police yourself to find out exactly who the officer was and what the alleged contravention is supposed to be.

My guess is that it is all talk, and if there has been no action by now, there won't be.

bummer re your lad getting stopped....
when i was with my sons car when he went in a ditch... [long story ] i sent him home and i stayed for recovery at 1am ... cops came past , i explained and they stayed there for an hour . i kept telling them i was ok but they said they "would be in trouble if they left me in a vulnerable position and something happened " !!
i know it was a quiet lane but i dont think i was in danger of being propositioned considering i had tartan PJ's with welly boots and a stinky old barbour on ....

my son had a botched attempt at "doing" him in bournemouth. he refused an on the spot fine for something he hadnt done. ive always said if your guilty..you take it. if your not , stand your ground.
i stomped into the police station in the early hours. demanded to pick him and his mate up. told em if not charged , they were walking [i wasnt in PJs and wellies this time] but i think the term CHARGING RHINO came to thier minds... they let em go but said it would be looked into and son "would be hearing!" well , i was back there next day, demanded details of the officer and read them the "alfie bible" of correct procedure... they admitted it was not an open case. just to put the wind up em...but if hed hav paid the fine.......

CTC. unless the officer issued him with a notice [paperwork] then no offence has been commited. they have to verbally say to you the full definition of the offence commited...and some of em are long..
as a point of law , if the correct law is not quoted accurately to the offender, then the offence cannot be upheld. [get out of jail clause...and not a lot of people know that...]

Would the police know what insurance company it is, even though we didnt tell them? ( genuinely dont know, as we have so many bl00dy insurance policies for this, that and the other)

Edit.... Alfie, no paperwork was given to eldest....but he took pics of the 'alledged' modifications' which now i am told by son, that some of them might be...

    dont need this bl00dy grief
