The mud is getting me down too Alfie. It's everywhere. I usually manage to keep the sitting room 'ok' but that's a dump too and the sort of cream carpet has mud in it, the throws gather sandy type dirt and grit When the heating goes in I think I will hire a carpet cleaning thing again, I just cannot stand it much longer.

I feel mean taking the puppy ut all the time, he shivers and his teeth chatter when I take him out for a wee.

:( :D LIR..... i suggest a veggy cloche tunnel from back door to grass with an igloo tent with no bottom at the end of tunnel. not only will pupwup get a "dry" wee but also will be an early learning for agility tests :D:D:D

Well took the stray cat to vet, I just couldnt get over how well behaved she was, even the vet said she was waiting for her to climb the walls...lol..

Anyway vet said.. the collar had been like it for a long while, and there was old scar tissue where it was trying to heal, it was deep in places, so she has been booked in for friday to go under, and have it stiched. She gave anti biotic and a pain killer jab, she did have a temp, but hopefully by friday that will be down enough for her to have the stitches..

The vet said she is not as old as she looks. its that she is soooo out of condition due to the collar thing etc....

right off to make tea... ( food not a cuppa:D)

ooo ye and little kitten is a right tinker:rotfl:

Oh thank goodness you are sorting it ctc. I have to admit I never leave collars opn the cats (some times they have them on for posing in, and they used to be walked on harness when we lived in cities) and I dislike leading collars on dogs too. As well as the old showing bias of damage to the coat around the neck I heard a horrendous story once involving a springer spaniel and a door knob, and the risk of coming back and finding mine dead is not worth taking as far as I am concerned.

Well, big dog goes tomorrow to be spayed. I have to take her somewhere miles away because of her size. Meanwhile, I notice this evening that dog dog's dressing has a hard bump upon it, so I think she has damaged her splint And that's a be in the other direction. :(. She is coping well, but if the splint is kaput I don't know what we will do.

It just went below freezing a smidgeon in the polytunnel last night, but outside the chooks drinkers were frozen a little and there's hoar frost on everything. Very pretty.

Stepped out briefly very early this a.m. when there wasn't a breath of wind, only to hear a very clear roaring sound, which I know is the River Taw rushing over a weir. It was like the sound from motorways when you're two miles distant. Heard it before many times, but never as loud. For once, no one's c0ckerel was crowing either!

We are moving all our tables and other 'work' parephenalia into the big polytunnel now that DW is happy with the levelled floor. We didn't get around to that in the summer, as there was too much else to do. Now, I shall have to think about connecting up the electrics, though that will only be for lighting (and a heated sand bed if I go back to propagating:-)

Being Bonfire Night, I had one to dispose of the ash tree bits from the ones we cut last Friday and a load of weeds that had reached the seeding stage. That must have been the first Bonfire Night when I didn't see or hear a single firework since about 1951! :rotfl:

Glad tortie puss is getting help CTC. :A
