Being on the coast it takes a really cold snap for the snow to settle here, LIR. Unless it falls on frozen ground it usually disappears as fast as it falls.
No ice, either. In fact, not even a frost ..... probably for the same reasons.
It's trying to drizzle but not having much success one way or another. Water is still running down the lane but rather more sedately now.
In fact, it's just a sort of blah day really (aka as normal for this part of the world) :rotfl:
We have a porchway where we can sit & take off boots/shoes & hang wet coats before coming in to the utility room which has underfloor heating (so stockinged feet get toasty) & the coffee machine (got to have your priorities right) so it tends to be where everyone congregates :rotfl:

:j Glad it went well, CTC. Here's to the duration
LIR. There was one particularly wet winter when the dumper truck here literally sunk _pale_ Everything got very 'interesting' for a while :rotfl:0 -
We're still at the caravan - it was such a gorgeous morning we didn't want to leave! But we must get back home tomorrow, already we've stayed 5 days longer than planned! Here's what we woke to see this morning:
Snowdon in morning sun by ukmaggie45, on Flickr
There's been snow on the tops of the mountains for a few days now, but although I tried hadn't managed to get a decent photo till this morning. Thank goodness for my X30 optical zoom!
Very chilly South East wind, so haven't been out today, neglected to bring enough woolies with me!But feet toasty warm in sheepskin boots.
OH has been doing some last bits of tidying on the patio etc, just a few thistles to get out of some of the pots and we're ready to leave it till next spring. Although we could come down for new year I don't think we will as we've got so much to do back home, clearing old home and so on.0 -
that is a stunning view maggie....
well hubby and youngest have just gone to pick up kitten:D
our cat 'streaky' is sitting quite peacefully on the arm of the chair, unaware of what will be coming here soon:D:eek::rotfl:Work to live= not live to work0 -
I hope streaky takes a kitten better than pink whistley has taken curly dog. She is furious, will not come down stairs and refusing to come to bed either
.
I hope she forgives us soon. I love her so much I feel the weight of her resentment heavily upon me.0 -
So glad it went well, CTC. Chances are, footfall will improve from here onwards too.
Lovely Snowdon snow piccie Maggie. I think you've probably had the best of the caravan, for now anyway! Wish we could get away like that just now & again, but then I remind myself that we have easy access to so much 'holiday country' within an hour or so's drive.
My turn for a frustrating day today. While DW did wonders levelling the intended 'working' end of the polytunnel and laid the ground cover, I just struggled with a couple of fiddly jobs mending gutters and fences......but I did it all with recycled & secondhand materials, mind!

Our oldest cat, Daisy, was outraged when DD1 first brought her cats here from Birmingham. We kept them in the far end of the bungalow, but Daisy knew! :rotfl:
However, once released, the two visitors found that they rather liked the barn. So, when they come here for holidays now, they head straight for 'their' house, and they're even fed there. Daisy has relented and merely growls if they meet up, accepting that the two tourists (one's a Bengal) will be a temporary inconvenience, but no real threat.0
