  • LiR, thanks for the further comments re ponies and the dreaded laminitis. I'm doing a major financial plan at the moment and although daughter is insistent that she wants a pony I'm not convinced we can afford to keep one (unless DD's living with us and working full-time). But if it comes to a choice between a pony and a tractor DH may have a fight on his hands :rotfl:

On a good news / bad news note, DH and I have just decided we're not going to have our holiday abroad next month as we'd planned, because we can't afford it. I bought the flights back in July but things are just too tight money-wise and I'd rather gain an extra month paying off my CC. It's a big decision but I think it's the right one. It'd be around a grand for the 8 days we wanted, mostly at my expense, so it makes a difference. Ho hum.

Now I need something cheap to cheer myself up... off to read the old thread!

Choille, re your post a while back, here's a story in the news today. So if a bank has refused to cancel a DD, then it is breaking the law and liable.

Alex, tough decision, but probably wise.

    Thanks davesnave.

I wanted to repot that one today but i have flaked out early. I need to find a home for all the wild strawberries in that pot before repotting too.

    Its me, men in lycra?

A tree i had forgotten i had ordered has arrived at a nursery this week, so dh and i are off to get that soon.

Silly blind attila is broody now, but she doesn't realsie that in 'turning the eggs' she is actually kicking them out to kingdom come. Its too late to let anything raise eggs imo, so she is going to be sorely disappointed, as i am not putting anything fertilised under her. :( feels mean, but i also think a nlind chickenmama might not be that competant. Lame cheeky on the other hand was a huge help to JoJo and a great chicken aunt.

Well, someone sent me a 1906 Chambers Journal (Alf, includes an ad for Lady of the Barge :D) so I thought I'd share this ad with you:
    Rheumatism
The most obstinate cases of Rheumatism, Lumbago, Sciatica, Bronchitis etc are at once relieved by rubbing with Smedley's Chillie Paste, and if applied when the first symptoms appear one application will usually effect a complete cure, and avert what might otherwise be a severe illness.
Now where did I put that Snake Oil? :D

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: well i would think youde be auditioning for the olympics if you slapped CHILLI paste on your deriare.... :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
