Power tools are giving me the heebeejeebies. Chipper/shredder works well, but of course, 5yo son wants to emulate daddy....

Heart in mouth. There is a guard and he is being very closely supervised.

Omg, thats really fast alfie! Searchiong for this sort of stuff was on my list for monday. I think i need to get an electrician to put it together too.

That means on Monday i can fucus my effort on the bronze stemmiy bits. Another mse poster has suggested places I might try searching for those!

That light in particular has 113 i think...i wonder if they might to a discount for seeling a fair few of them in one hit?

Where did you find the glass? i have some other lights I want to [STRIKE]rip off[/STRIKE] take inspiration from for elsewhere, and they are a lot two. In fact I thought they were a staggaring amount till i learnt that some people spend 24k on lights, and they are a tenth of that price, rofl.

Eaten my first immature shark fin melon, a 6" one. It's sort of like a sweeter courgette, not bad at all.
And I've harvested one mature one, so at least if we get an early nasty frost, I have some seeds and one mature fruit.
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.

:eek: i am one of those people that literally have a heart stopping moment when i see children anywhere near anything with any form of blade/rotation/force..... it only takes 5 seconds to miss what kids are about to do.
my son [when young]had a bad accident whilst staying at a friends house even tho id asked[my friend] for him NOT to go near certain things on the farm there. she felt it was safe as her son played there.....[son thought she as an adult new best !] it wasnt and my son had a smashed mouth, lost teeth, spent 2 yrs in/out hosp and has 2 false teeth now [which still he finds embarassing for his age]........
not wishing to be a scare monger but please be carefull...it only takes a moment for a lifetime injury...:o

I can understand your concern. Dad is very cautious. If it were entirely up to me, he wouldn't be anywhere near i, so I have to put my trust in Dad's close supervision. There are no accessible sharp bits and a deep enclosed guard. I've checked!

    http://www.hse.gov.uk/agriculture/hsagriculture.htm

Most peoe love their kids and supervise them, but some slip through the net. Agriculture (and even in a small way, thats you now rozee;)) has some of the worse stats.

I personally think healthy respect and knowledge is important, including how to behave around equipment, but for me thats also a learning the golden rule of this is NOT for you.

I have seen some horrific near misses from peoe being surpised by kids or friends popping out to say hello and making them jump.

Edit: sheesh, all doom and gloom. At least the kid wants to be outside with his daddy. Rozee, is there anything else you could preoccupy them with taht would be helpful? Perhaps he could be incharge of kindling collection? Thats a REAlLy important job!
