Rain? Bright sunshine here!
(OK, we had rain an hour ago, but 'him up there' knows I'm going shopping......:()0 -
So, i found a light i like for my kitchen but...um, its out of price range. I posted a pic in another thread and someone called up and its 24k. Needless to say, its a little too much (rofl)
Some one did suggest it might be makeable. Alfie........wanna have a look at this tremendous money thing?0 -
Its me, i looked at our messy wisteria today with embarrassment and thought of you. Be careful up ladders in this weather, for goodness sake.0

yep, sun .... rain ......sun ...... rain.
Don't worry, LIR, I'll only be up a ladder later if it 's dry.
What's this light like? I would think you'd be able to get one bespoke made for far less than that.
Dave - I've been catching up with some of the posts I missed. You know your friend Star the duck. Well, he's anas non grata as far as the Council is concerned.

Well, the whole of the long grass has been brush cut and we're off to collect the chipper/shredder so there's the weekend entertainment set.
In reality, nothing gets done Fridays through Mondays as the kids are around. Let's hope the weather's bearable and we can get out of the caravan & do something.0 -

trying to persue the gettingone made option. Pretty sure its possible to get most things cheaper than 24k!
Here it is.

I love it. I can imagine it 'floating' between the two a frames in the kitchen, like cotton seed blowing through, and the darker glow from the hearth being reflected too.
But, ... Twenty four k:eek::eek: tahts more than some small holdings!0 -
Beautiful but I can't clearly see how it all fits together.
I'm guessing there's a rectangular frame hanging on wires?
I found this site which shows other Ochre chandeliers & that seems to be how they make them.
Someone like Dartington Glass could do the glass 'drops' & a good metalworker/jeweller could make the buds but you'd need to work out exactly how & where the LED lighting & wiring would go so that, in daylight, it didn't look obvious.0 -

Haven't we moved rather a long way from, "medieval peasants with the Internet" since I went shopping? :rotfl:
P.S. Yes, itsme, I saw that about Star in the Journal. I have some sympathy with the official view, as it's a real money spinner, and it would be so easy, (with the right duck!) for others to imitate this guy.;)0 -
