Alex - Exmoors are more than capable of taking an adult on a full day's ride.

I spent 6 hours up ladders tackling wisteria, summer & winter jasmine & honeysuckle. I finished about 15ftx15ft.
I've still got a climbing hydrangea, 2 walls of montana, some more jasmine, some virginia creeper & (the bit I'm really not looking forward to) the wisteria right up at the gable of one of the buildings to do.
I'm not great with heights. :o
At least then I'll be able to look out my front windows without cringing over what needs doing.
Then, of course, it's tackling the side & back :rotfl: Why am I laughing ...... ah yes, hysteria :rotfl:

;) thats my gal...:D whats a bit of hysteria amongst friends...:rotfl::rotfl: or should i say wysteria.....

Yup, not much sign of the hoped-for Indian Summer, which is why I tried to cut as much grass as possible yesterday. That's something which has grown really well this year!

Reluctantly, I'm also varnishing a few outside doors, not because I hope to keep them, but because they're so dodgy, they might break before we demolish the bits they're attached to! :(

The new chickens found their legs and wings yesterday, but only after we'd forced them to go outside, where they also found the grass stuff to be quite tasty. By the end of the day they were behaving more like chickens. :)

Luckily chickens prefer dry wallows.....Here's ours, seeing how many can fit into a baker's tray of dry soil and diatoms!:rotfl:

My dream is to have a little place in the country, with a well-tended veg plot, an orchard, lots of rescue cats, chickens, goats and donkeys. I'm there with the cats at least. Essentially I'd like to live like a medieval peasant but with broadband!

Hi Tiglath:j love the quote, to live like a medieval peasant but with braodband:T:rotfl: think thats me too:D

Weather is pants here too, but I thought it was suposed to be nice tomorrow, and then back to rain on sunday?

Rhiwie the offer is still opne if you want to go through the bric-a-brac to have a nose, most of it is modern carp, but there might be the odd interesting piece.

The cheapest place to hire a mini digger is full booked for this weekend:o, but they did tell us to phone today, just incase there had been a cancellation...

I like the idea of living like a medieval peasant. In truth i like hot running water.

I have always thought i would like a 'duvet of cats'. So many cats that they cover the bed and keep one toasty all through autumn and winter. My cats are sleeping closer and closer, but they are a small hot water bottle between the two of them, not a duvet of cats.

Its very, very wet here today, not heavy rain, but that slow, drizzley continua, that makes things wetter than seems possible. Things are getting tidied up around the place slowly.
