Thank you for that advice! We are going to go to a couple of the days and see what there is and what things are selling for. It may not be worth it as there is a £20 fee and the things we would be selling would be of low value.

Thats a heck of a fee for a single car  I pay £7 for an undercover pitch with an 11 foot frontage (1.5 parking bays). A double pitch (3 bays) costs £12.

No idea about car boots, as we only sold plants.....We had our own pricing structure & wouldn't haggle, unless a v big sale! :p

Wouldn't have paid £20 even with a big van!

Plants for boggy/flooded places could include Lythrum, (nice ones, like Beacon, Robert and Blush, not seed-raised rubbish) Troillus, Astilbes, Cimicifuga....Rogersia, Kirengshoma, Polygononum.... err.... some Asters....can't think of any more. Arums are good, but may not stand your winters and Hostas are slug hotels, so can't recommend them either.

Shrubs might include Cornus, Leycesteria, Hydrangea Physocarpus & Guelder Rose (which isn't a rose!) I wouldn't go for willow, as they take over.

I'm getting away with all these here on land which can be quite wet, but which also dries out fast when we have a good spell. ;)

With the threat of the good spell ending today, I cut all the grass yesterday & did nothing else, apart from eat a huge barbie in a friend's garden, which was very welcome.

It was so windy, I didn't dare continue with the foundations for the new chicken shed. Don't know if others find this, but I can't concentrate & get things 'right' when it's blustery! :(

Good wishes to all absent friends.

Dave - Thank you for that huge list of plants! I really just can't face weeding that bit day in day out for the rest of my days I just want it smothered in plant life!

Think we are going to go to the carboot with friends and split a table so we are not too out of pocket.

Today I have a mountain of things to do around the house and garden so I think I will flit from job to job today and get what I can done without getting strung out about it. The older I get the shorter my attention span for chores ;)
