It's chaffinches here. I can't wait to get up to the bunglaow (I wish I had a pound for evey time I say that). There's a woodpecker apparently.
A bit of a crisis (mini) as there's a pond in the north facing garden. It's just a little bath type thing and we were about to rip it out as I don't think ponds and small children mix and it's right in the path of where we plan to site the static. I checked it out yesterday and it's got quite a few newt tadpoles.... Any suggestions?0 -

Lets face it, if anyone can find an unwanted plough horse, it has to be you

Another bit of advice please: We won't have the cash to do any outbuildings for a while but want to make a planning application to include whatever we need - what do you think would be good things to apply for? I'm not even sure what you need PP for? I fancy a polytunnel. Also thinking shelter for any field animals we get and stables (big enough for a large cart horse? :rotfl:)0 -
aaahhhh! now i may ,may be able to help....:D i have a tubular frame from a big pagodery/tent thing. one of those big party tents where you have a plastic cover over. if i remember rightly it was approx 20'x10' x6'h. it has a pitch roof BUT you could just use poles to make cross bars instead ??? then just get roll of netting and attatch ??? advantage being you can sink poles in the ground however uneven !:D just an idea/offer .....and a freebie [maybe 50p

Hi all,
Alfie love the fireplace....looks really nice....
I got a love/hate relationship with roses, i love them when they are in perfect condition, and in full bloom ( like on the plant cataloges, all 'enhanced)and then hate them all the other times:rotfl: ( when they look drab)
well this week looks as though its going to end on a total naff low:(, one of the vans got a major problem ( and its the van i drive the most) so that is booked into the garage on monday, and its not looking good with my eggs in the incubator....not a pip, rattle or a cherp ( i normally talk to the eggs when they are due to hatch, and the DO answer back:rotfl:) so will give them until monday...
Maybe next week will be diff and my luck changes...but i am not holding my breath...
been raining through the night...stopped now ...so hopefully we will have a few hours before the next lot of rain comes...Work to live= not live to work0 -

Any other ponds in the immediate area, rozee?
If there are (& the owner agrees) you can fish them out & transfer them. You'll then have to be pretty quick filling in your pond before it restocks.0 -
Have not caught up, just posting to say the hail has driven us in.
You cannot have one old cart horse...ypu need a second equine of some sort. Then a third one for completness. Personally i find seven a nice number0 -
Soft fruit garden to be. We looked at it and just do not know where to start! The banks of the muck heap would be ideal though, far end is the veg garden, so keeps food growing togtehr, can be easily mulched and watered form muck heap, and would deal with weeds. This bank is about 8 feet wide at least. The bank itself is made of clay and rubble, but if we could work out how sort out the wall side, we could then have the digger back
. To move the munure up to make deep rich bed up top the banks.
Complications...for those unfamiliar with silage clamps some, like this one, have drainage channels around the edge, so we cannot just bank up to the wall, but need to make sure the drainage channel is clear. So by the wall you can see there is. A one course high wall0 -
Are you going to have to do any work to the clamp to comply with the new regulations, LIR, or will it become redundant?0

I really dislike our roses and spent years cutting them down only to find out that it how to keep them in good condition! They will just not die and because my OH loves them I need to leave them
Morrisons have lovely pots atm and I may have treated myself to a set. Pots are one of my garden weaknesses and I didn't get any last year but I thought I would treat myself and I may go back and get another set
Tomorrow rain or shine I am going to get out in the garden and get some weeding and planting doneTaking responsibility one penny at a time!0
