Well, everything went bonkers in work yesturday and today, so i had to cancel the docs appointment:cool: Our problem is we have one member of staff off for a month from next week, and they also had today and friday off, and its typical things have gone bonkers in work.... We dont leave anyone alone in the factory, for health and safety reasons...
The puncture is looking good, not aching now, but i will def make another appointment to have a tetnus... I had a close shave so to speak....
.
CTC, if you havent had the tetanus jab please go to A&E straight away and get it done!!!
You dont know if you are still in tetanus incubation period0 -
No progress with house as we are just about able to tread water money wise if you know what I mean.
It's so frustrating as the weather has been perfect too, but seriously need roof sheeting on as the membrane has now lost its waterproofing & when it last rained I wept when I saw what had happened inside.
We have got a computer - this one - on its last legs - just back from the doctors & now my laptop is in as that went too - so been off-line a far bit. Not handy when you're trying to ebay!
The beds we put polythene over are doing great as things were so slow to start everything is really coming on.
Got some (really cheap) asparagus plants from Poundland - I think & three plants are up - not that I'll cut them this year, or next probably, but really chuffed about it.
Heard horror tales about flat worm - apparently it's all over here. We have a 'virgin' garden. We created it from bare land so haven't got it * fingers crossed * but have to watch where we get plants from as it's even in the lovely garden plant place at Tournaig - where I've actually bought plants from:eek::eek::eek:
They've even got it at Inverewe which I was shocked to hear.
Hope everyone is well - CTC - You need to go & get your jags.:(0 -

Looks like she got a Peugeot instead.......
Of course I shouldn't really make light of this, as the tetanus jabs are so important.:o Luckily, most of us oldies have had a fair few, and I know I'm up to six.:A
The car is just something I spotted when trawling the Bay for another motor. I missed one last weekend. It was actually withdrawn as I showed it to DW.
I missed another in the paper today, by being about 1/2 hour too late with my phone call. So, all in all, I have not been doing very well.....
Still.... at least we haven't got the New Zealand flatworm yet. Horrible thing, that is!0 -
Well, some Solstice this has turned out to be! Once again, I've been required to light the woodburner, so that we can doze off in comfort.
All last year I dreamed about the fantastic difference the polytunnel would make. I thought I'd be in there in my shorts now, trying desperately to keep up with all the lush growth..... The reality is that we still don't have any ripening tomatoes, and my peppers are tiny compared with this time last year.
What's more I couldn't hear the radio at all this afternoon with the deafening drumming of all that rain.
My woes are tiny though, compared with those of Pete, who's trying to find that window for the hay harvest, here & elsewhere. If I remember correctly, it was not done until July last year, but it was planned for that time. This year he'd hoped to go early.0 -

WHAT A SHIP DAY !! it has drizzled, rained and cascaded in between dry ?? no hoss whispering today...
i delivered bench and they were happy.
i got home cold and wet, lit the fire and had an instant CTC moment :rotfl::rotfl:
i even got a hotwater bottle...:o
poor devils at IOW fest... apparently up to 5hour ques on the road from yarmouth to newport... due to the fest carpark .. the first cars in slowly churned it to mud and the rest got stuck and it gridlocked....:( backed right up on the portsmouth route cos the ferries couldnt sail cos nowhere for cars to go the otherside... then the PMth side griddlocked
not too bad here as more space around yarmouth....
im still feeling chilled.:(0 -

Problem is, last year was drier through the growth period, so the crop was not as heavy. If your cropps are anything like ours they are already getting early die back round the bottom, and are going to need an extra days turning because of the density of the crop, so you need a longer window sooner for a decent crop.0 -

You need a number i think, because you have to log movements, including movment to your house. Might you might be able to get after the first arrives. They are really helpful on the phone lines, give'em a ring.0 -
I don't have flat worm but it is around here - I've been warned.
They eat all your earth worms up & really fast.
CTC - let's know your ebay name please if you don't mind that is.
A barn owl just flew off from a fence post just a few yards away from the window. Do they eat bats? Coz the bats have been about.
Raining heavy here tonight, but managed to have an hour an a half down the wood hauling out bracken & the wind kept the midgies down.0
