Thanks, LincolnshireYokel
I don't have the moss problem on the roof but I'm sure others here will have - just as well that I don't as, like lir, we've a hell of a lot of roof to contend with.
However, I do now have visions of our postie playing hopscotch through copper squares to get from the gateway across all the cobbles to the front porch.
He's a local farmer with a large & colourful vocabulary so I'd probably hear him well before he got to the door :rotfl:0 -

Apparently it's meant to grow mainly on the southern side of rooves while moss grows on the north.
Our buildings follow the valley in a sort of NW-SE direction. If the sun is out it is always on the whole roof, if you can follow my rotten description. The moss problem is down at ground level where the buildings or hills cast their shadows.0 -

Not around much, as we've been trying to buy a car, but it's not easy. I've found several I like, but then she with the bad back says "this cushion is 2cm shorter than the one in the other car and it falls away too steeply at the thighs..." or some such thing.
Reliability, economy and performance mean nothing against the simple measure of, "Does my bum feel comfortable on this?":rotfl:
I haven't even taken my new mower out of the van yet, and with what's now forecast I may not bother for another few days. It looks like a time to tighten all the bolts on the polytunnel, pot stuff on and do all those horrible admin jobs I like to put off.
Looks like the grass is growing now,but there has still been no movement at all on the matter of the faulty septic tank discharge from our distant neighbour. While the non-appearance of a drainage chap isn't their fault, if he does arrive after the rain, he'll be messing up the hay crop.:(
It will be interesting to see what transpires. Personally, I think there's dodgy ground there, in more senses than one, and nil chance that we will agree to formalise the situation through any kind of written agreement. Regardless of what happens in the short term, the folk involved will have an unsaleable property until they go bio-disc. End of.0 -
Dave, got some sympathy for your DW, nothing worse than being in a car with a bad back and no lumbar support
(unless its broken down as well :rotfl:)
Alf, bidding should drive up your urns.

Hope you find a back-friendly car for Mrs Dave. She has my sympathies, too.
Oh dear. This, Mr Tank, is a different neighbour to Mr Dogs, isn't it? If it's not one, it's the other. The joys of having land, eh?
I hope the septic tank outflow is sorted soon - even though this will run on Deb'n time, of course. It'll be done dreckly _pale_
As you say, if this isn't their 'forever home', they may realise the problems that will arise during a sale & get it sorted.0 -
