Fantastic news! We'll have a drink for you tomorrow - shame I didn't catch up with the thread until tonight! I will admit I haven't sorted the seeds yet but it shouldn't take too much longer... I'm off work until Tuesday (one of the perks of an office job) but I WILL do them - promise!
Have a great Easter weekend all :j"...And if it don't feel good, what are you doing it for?" - Robbie Williams - 'Candy'0 -

Good to hear Special Girl looked OK this morning, lir.
After quite a nasty-looking, but relatively harmless frost, we had a lovely morning here. However, reminded of that prayer about things we have not done which we ought to have done, I was in a bathroom painting the ceiling...
Later, I was allowed out, so we planted a few trees in the new copse area, notably an oak rescued from the yard, and a European Nettle Tree I grew from seeds planted in 2007. The latter should be of interest to Lotus Eater, being the 'Lotus' in question, but it's under 5' tall ATM, so nothing to eat yet awhile.
Narrowly averted disaster tonight, when DW decided that it might rain and therefore I should move the vibrating road roller we've been loaned under cover. It all went very smoothly, until I tried to stop the thing, but having started it on choke, it wouldn't respond to closing the throttle.......
So, there I was, in a tight space, throwing this thing from forward into reverse & back again to buy some thinking time....and I couldn't think of anything, except, "Help!!" Luckily, before I demolished more than our recycling bin, I saw where the panic button was, but it was only afterwards that I understood why the thing wouldn't behave in the first place.
OK I'm a bloke, but next time, I will listen properly when people explain how to work machinery!0 -

It never fails to amuse/exacerbate me that so many men in the world are employed to produce Manuals for all manner of machines & gadgets just to have almost every man ignore their existence.
It sits in a mental slot next to "Why will male drivers never ask someone directions?" :rotfl:
Happy Easter everyone :EasterBun :easter_ba0 -

Point taken, but to be totally fair, the instructions went something like:
"You see this switch? Well sometimes it doesn't quite catch, so just keep turning it and....hang on....if I undo this wire....yeah, that's it. Well, anyway, these rods control forward & reverse and the throttle's here. No clutch; it's auto."
And I said, "Yep, no probs."
Nobody mentioned stopping.0 -

Instructions from the last man who didn't read the manual, either, then
I am pulling your leg, you know?0 -

Yes, but you're right about not asking for directions. I always make DW do that! :rotfl:0 -
Dh will ask forndirections, but has the worst swnse of direction and has often forgotten them in five steps or quarter mile in the car.
When he is wandering around london i quite often get a. All saying 'i am on the corner of this road and that road, where am i, how do i get home/ to the office'. And with in weeks of living with dh i jnew my way round hamsptead ( which before i had considered ome strange outpost of london in the remote north) and was showing him the way round.0
