Just lost a whole long post - never mind.

Hot here & the dreaded midges are back. Beautiful long days but exhausting heat really.

Rummer I could certainly do with upping my income as things are just not going anywhere at the moment although we will get stuff organised later this week - it's a struggle as things are so expensive.

Not really much to report as just plodding on as usual. Busy ebaying but it has gone rather quiet - I do like doing it though & is possible from here.

My knees are killing me - must be the old age creeping or all that cleaning of holiday homes...possibly.

    Hope everyone is fine.

Good to hear from you Choille I think we are all busy trying to improve our finances. If I come up with any great ideas, I will share :D

Still hovering on the verge of buying chooks. Someone has four Jersey Giant chicks for sale on Facebook and they're practically cheeping at me to buy them from the photo!

not sure of your circumstances but could you do dog sitting in your home ? there are official business's that you can join therefore insurance etc is covered.
a friend has just advertised she will "see to" anything [her husband died a year ago and she was struggling]... she has so far been to look after chickens, goats, dog walking, and she did a test run for me this last weekend so she is now adding pigs etc to her list...:rotfl:

i cleaned out my pond this afternoon.... [dropped mum at nursing home this morning, went on to pick up at airport first.]
and i found ONE fish....im amazed it has survived !! as the pond had been wrecked by the geese and ducks, they are now banned ....

my hip is hurting like hell :o not sure whats caused that ;) :rotfl:

    Hi Alfie,

    You sound busy as usual.

Dogs in the caravan with our two very elderly cats wouldn't be great! The dog sitting thing - they want you to pay to register.

I keep meaning to set up a facebook selling page but need to look into it.

Off over East as OH goes to a pool excercise session as he's suffering from stiff joints that are getting pretty restrictive. I get some shopping - main shop for the week & do all the stuff needing done over there.

The place is blue with bluebells in the wood & I can smell them sitting here, We seem to have a ton of bees about now the broom is out. We sawed up a load of wood - off-cuts yesterday as we need to move the wee caravan so we can stack the rest of the cladding that hopefully we'll get tomorrow. We have a guy helping us with his tractor & trailer to get it from the local sawmill. Would have been before now but their machine broke down. So it'll be a busy day Wednesday stacking that lot.

Meant to say - we got a chain saw from LIDL for £60 an electric one, but it's just the job.

The biggest money spinner for me will be hitting pension age! :rotfl:

We have 3 small work's pensions paying out atm :ourl?sa=i&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&docid=at97Vn_OJWBKJM&tbnid=smK9-ZZXwW1ZoM:&ved=&url=http%3A%2F%2Fatthecross.wapgroups.com%2Ffiles%2F%3Fpage%3Ddetail%26fid%3D32574&ei=uPu2UYyqNcO50QXgwYHYAQ&psig=AFQjCNHEn4c-bHp8pInVB6DmVWLAaImaEQ&ust=1371032888907892

Hips, knees, backs and other maladies, what a load of crocks we are :o

Choille, just been to our local Lidl and bought a hose set and a submersible pump, neither of which we need but at a £1 each I couldnt resist :rotfl::rotfl:

DW going thru her mother's papers (she has PoA) and came across the medal award letter for her father's brother who died on active service as a pathfinder crew member in WWII. Never taken up as his parents hated the English and didnt want their sons to fight for them. So sad. DW wonders whether to try to get them as a mark of respect and remembrance but with surviving sisters in Belfast, it may just open up old divisions :(

Mine came from Screwfix and cost the same. It certainly beats fiddling around with the more powerful petrol one, and it's fine for working in the yard. :)

Never see anything discounted for £1 in my Lidl! :(

The end of the barn is done, so we're getting on with the dividing partition inside. Once again, it's a wooden frame on top of the existing 8' block wall, but this time clad with some of the steel panels I picked up cheaply. I'm a happy bunny, because I really didn't fancy this job single-handed, and now all I need to do is a bit of labouring. :D
