OK, first the good news.....The awkward bits on the barn are sorted:

The bad news is that not only is the lawnmower broken, but so is one of the windows on the patio doors, which we are keeping.
It must have been a piece of gravel on the lawn when I last mowed that section, days ago. The ironic bit is that the window is a good distance away and that area of lawn is about as good as it gets here. I'd guess one of the cats moved the gravel, or it travelled on someone's boot. Can't even blame the mole!
I agree rhiwfield, I need something like a Hayterette for the twiddly bits and a more substantial mower/slasher to do the main rough grass areas. It would be good too if they didn't chuck things about, but I suppose they all do that!
Off to strim the graveyard. I hope they are well insured! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -

yep, they have settled in well, one of them has a gash on its year, so the good old purple spay has been used, so it looks as though we have a 'punk rocker' pig now:rotfl: think we have 5 or 6 males.
AND to add to the sh!te things that have been happening, they put the price up of the fruit/veg we buy:eek::eek:, which now doesnt work out viable for feeding the pigs, typical that we have just had 8 more. So went in today and told them.. BUT the fruit/veg person did take my number, incase the new manager realises/change his mind.
SOOOOOOO I need to get some things sown/planted ASAP so will also be looking to see what veg plants are being sold on the bay locally..
If anyone got any surplus courgette plants I can buy please let me know... as I know these give a big harvest, and my piggies do like them..Work to live= not live to work0 -
CTC
The thing that produces more calories per area than anything else is potatoes (see J Jeavons).
They would be very late but if you can find any seed, that is what I would grow.
If not, try jerusalem artichokes; pigs love them.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -

Raw potatoes aren't too wise for pigs, though, unless the pigs take them straight from the ground, RAS.
Green potatoes contain toxins & raw potatoes can disrupt their protein digestion.
It would be a bit of a bind (plus added expense) to have to boil all the spuds first.0
