How lovely to wake up to good news :j
CTC Great to hear that things have been recovered. Sounds as if you have some amazingly supportive friends too
Lucille  what a fantastic achievement! Stories like this are a real inspiration and a good motivator
I got the pots weeded and some seeds sown yesterday as well as ripping out bucketsful of creeping buttercups :j small steps but at least I got things started. Today is dry but cloudy which will be ideal for working in the garden later! We are hoping that a friend will come round and give us a hand later too, thank goodness for good friends!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
We had a bbq last night. Managed to get a secondhand gas bbq for £25, had great evening. Cloudier today so hoping to sow a few seeds.

Hic, reason to celebrate/commiserate please see siggy.
Lucielle, fantastic news! It's a great achievement! :T
CTC fingers crossed that the rest is recovered
Well... my news is not very interesting. It seems that while we had very little interest in our house, property prices for everything else round here have been creeping up. So we actually couldn't afford to take the offer, as it wouldn't allow us to buy anything that we liked even if we put all the money into one property. Hey ho. How frustrating! We bought our (now) forever home just before the market crashed and we are now stuck here. However we though a lot about it and decided that we could easily turn it into our dream with some clever thinking.
Now that you are in the position where you have to hold tight, at least for a while, is there anything you could do to make your dream a step closer where you are?
What we did was start to turn our garden into a fruit and veg growing area and I also put our names down for an allotment. The garden will take years to develop as we are taking things a steady pace so every year we have a new thing to add keeping it interesting and challenging.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
:T:cool::beer::cool::T for CTC & Lucielle.
Sorry to read your news Alexelisey. It's really frustrating for you.

LIR... that cocktail sounds scrummy...hope hubby's arm will be ok..
I really did need last night, to be amongst my long time no see biker friends...and we threw the caravan bed mattress and the bedding in the back of the van, and slept in there..
Dr and the medics were playing, our friend's son is their guitarist... even though they were a one hit wonder, they are a cover band now... but very entertaining... very good.
Where we were down the gower, there was no phone signal, so when we came home, we had a phone call from our eldest to say the police had been trying to get hold of us...
when they arrested the scumbags yesterday, they went back and raided the houses, and found the rest of the guitars in their attic:beer::beer::beer:( there were 2 police forces involved, one where the crime was committed, and one where the shop was, where they were arrested)
BUT this all down to the scumbags being totally thick, and us contacting music shops putting out discriptions and photos of the guitars.. and us telling the police who it was...
So I should imagine the police will call us tomorrow, with the official update
Lucille that is FANBLOODYTASTIC NEWS:T:T:T when I was in that position before, its an amazing feeling, you cant stop ginning, and wanting to tell peeps etc..
I still have my bottle of Asti unopened since crimbo, think it will be opened tonight, to celebrate the other guitars being found and Luceille fab new, both deserve a drink....
( carry on like this an we will be all alchofrolics:rotfl:Work to live= not live to work0 -
LIR... sorry was thinking straight when I posted the link to the beautiful horse, even though the area was in the titled, it ust didn't register..
BUT if he is an excellent price, and a potentially a good horse, would it worth you having a mini break up that way, and view him at the same time?????
and if he is nice, isn't there livestock transport companies???Work to live= not live to work0 -

pitty ,no way round that, as I should imagine you need a full hands on to feel him etc..
fly? or was it you couldn't fly?

Depends on the person. I used to buy quite a bit 'unseen' in the past. I knew the breeders and they knew me.
With this sort of thing I'd want a particular sort of person to go and see him.....it's possible. It is.
I am not meant to fly. I was considering flouting that this year in any case. On Tuesday I am having a lumbar puncture to drain some brain juice out of me.....they might say then I can fly. Next sunday dh is going on an eight hour flight to somewhere I haven't been but he has. I would have loved to go with him, but its too far to risk, and too late to get a decent price flight even if I get the all clear this week. Plus, because I cannot fly I have let my passport expire ! Will sort that out soon.0
