Hellooooo & Happy New Year to everyone in MSE world!

Thanks for stopping by Fantastiyk to be honest I've only just got my head round the Christmas money disaster! But strangely I feel a lot more up beat than I did in my last post! I am going to clear my sig and start a fresh with new goals and aims that will hopefully help get my butt back into debt busting gear.

I didn't get the local job I applied for but I'm sure something else will come up. I have an extra day next week in work which will help a lot and hoping I get an extra day the following week also.

Must ebay!!!! That will be the big todo in January I have a good stash of things gathered up so will hopefully get them on asap!

Just to give you a giggle Fantastiyk my electric meter has frozen! lol! There was me thinking I was doing great in my electric consumption when actually the blimmin thing has ground to a stop!!! I'm currently waiting for the engineer to come out and fix it! We shall see what the next bill will be lol!

Hopefully I will get back into posting and reading the great diaries on here and get a little more inspiration for money saving. :)

    Morning all :)

Electric meter fixed :jjust have to wait and see now what the back dated bill comes in at :(

Was going to go to mums today but really don't feel like the drive might just take the kids to the park and have an ironing day! It will save on petrol at least! Lottery to do today so £8 for that needed.

Sky have offered us free broadband for the year if we switch and as we're just out of our contract I thinks thats what we'll do it should half our current bill to just £14.50 a month for the year!

Not much else to report have started my spending diary again which is good just need to get ebay up and running again.

    Happy Saturday :)

    Hi Mamato3,
    :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

that did make me giggle. Maybe the payments will be frozen too!! fingers crossed :rotfl:

Glad you got some extra hours - every little helps at the minute.
Don't get too caught up in the debt going up - that's reality at times - the main thing is that this year you were aware of it as it was going on - not later when the bill drops on the mat. We might be more aware of all the ways we spend but it will take practice to learn all the ways to save!

    Best wishes for 2013 :)

    Happy Saturday MSErs!

Have added an ebay total to my sig it'll be interesing to see how much I can make throuout the year! Currently at £31.50 yippee! Have also starting doing the pesky surveys again even though they're time consuming and tedious at times the vouchers will go towards crimbo 2013!

We are changing our broadband to super duper fibre how hubby managed to talk me into that I dont know. It will actually be £5.00 more a month than we already pay but hey I'll be able to get onto MSE super duper quick!!

Still looking for a job closer to home but not much about at the minute there's always tonights lotto :)

No joy with the lotto darn!!!

Ebay will be about £37.00 after fees so that was okay I still have a few more things that I'll list during the week when I have a few minutes spare.

Spending diary also up to date so thats good. Not sure if I'll get the extra day in work this week fingers crossed!

Have added a gift tally to my sig hopefully it will be a good amount less than the £900 for last year!

    Off to iron school uniforms!!

Haven't got anything else listed yet DD took my camera for an arts project lol! Hopefully tomorrow night I'll get it done.

Had a peek at a few of the challenges I love the idea of pay of one debt in 2013 think I will start in February and try and get rid of the pesky virgin cc I'm sure if I can budget better for groceries and gifts I should be able to do it, so that will be my aim, pay it all off in 2013 should really cut the darn thing up would be a good start!!!

Have to pay dds final music tuition at the end of the month I have about £150 so will have to take £65 to put towards it but at least that will be it paid for the rest of the school term.

Not much else to report! Hope everyones well!

Why do things never go quite the way you would like them to go, life just seems to get the way!

CCs don't like they'll be going away this year I've registered for an OU course to start in March and have put it on my card - I'm so fed up in work and as there doesn't seem to be too much about at the minute have decided to get off my back side and and do what I've always wanted to do so I'm now registered for a Social Work degree .. gulp.. have also re-registered with a local charity that I use to volunteer for so will hopefully be doing that soon as well. I'm really excited about this but obviously it isn't going to help get rid of the cards. At least all the other debt is slowly going down.

This has been quite an expensive start to February with a birthday party last week and paying the rest of dds music fees but at least its a short month!

I'm doing pretty well with my meal planning something I was pretty awful at to be honest and keeping my spending diary up to date which is always a bit hair raising at the end of the month!

I'm off to work out some figures for the rest of the month hopefully we'll be able to stay in the black!

My OU stuff came :j yay! I'm excited about starting something new and something that hopefully will be a career change in a few years!

I've applied of a 0% cc to transfer our ccs onto it we're still in 0% at the min on them but oh is having awful trouble trying to use their online system so I think it'll be easier for me to take over doing it this way. I think thats my control issues are coming out!

Getting hair coloured today which will cost £0 as sis is a hairdresser :jso no spends there. Have family calling in today so must get some biccies for tea, I've eaten way too much rubbish the last few days with family calling in will have to be good next week!

So overall, although debt has gone up a bit with the OU course I'm feeling pretty positive about this year I'm hoping its the start of good things :)
  • Congratulations on taking the plunge with your OU course :j

It'll be well worth it in the end!!

I really admire people who go back and study to follow the path they have chosen. It's great for your kids to see too!

It's hard to believe we're in February already - it seems like a fortnight since the 1st January.

Good luck with your course
