How many competitions do you enter?

Just because you enter a lot is not by any means a guarantee of winning anything.
You're up against statistics and odds, and to be honest the odds are stacked against you due to the sheer number of other entrants. You need to use the enter and forget method.
You could be comping for 10 years and enter a million comps and not win anything (not even a fish slice!) or you could enter only one comp in your life and win the prize of your dreams so its all about luck.
If you win, great! If you don't, on to the next comp! Comping is not an easy hobby (well not as easy and fruitful as the media make it out to be) you've just got to stick with it and hopefully persistence will pay off eventually.
Dear Lord after a million comps I would hope law of averages would kick in :rotfl:Ha would give up on the lotto as well x
Haha, well the thing is. Even if you do enter a million comps and lets say there all one entry only comps i suppose it is somewhat possible to not even win (i daresay you'd prob win a fish slice though) heh!0 -

Or some cheese!! :rotfl: (mind you, when several thousand people enter a comp to win a block of cheese then maybe the odds aren't that great after all!!:eek:)
To y.bradley - comping is a hobby - the minute you start looking at it as a quick and easy way to win large sums of money and/or big or life-changing prizes is the minute you'll get frustrated. Try and enjoy the process, and maybe get involved with the forum a bit, otherwise it will feel like drudgery and you'll end up resentful. You'll find you either settle into a happy routine with your comping style or you'll decide it's simply not for you. The 'returns' (ie chance of winning) are absolutely atrocious compared to the amount of time you'll need to dedicate to the hobby, but some people are incredibly lucky and others are not. That's just the way the comping cookie crumbles! Good luck=^._.^= You will always be lucky if you know how to make friends with strange cats =^._.^=0 -

I think thats the key really (you worded it better than me). You need to find your comfort zone with it. If you find youre getting frustrated or angry that you're not winning then you need to question whether the hobby is for you!0 -
It's the thrill of the hunt for me! I enjoy entering in the slim chance I will win something but I don't expect. If I forget I have entered, it's an unexpected bonus!0

I've been comping now for over 7 years, I used to stalk postie, check e-mails every 10 minutes but the last few months we have had quite a few family matters that have taken up a lot of our time and also now I'm a full time carer for a disabled relative, my comping has been cut in half, I'm much more chilled now and relaxed but winning more, so to be honest it's not always how much time your putting in it's luck of the draw. Comp and then forget about it just make it Routine, and not expect anything back for quite a while and it will pay back in the end.

Hi
New to all this but just wondered, even with things like autofill speeding forms out, how many comps do you enter per day?
Thanks0 -
Hi and welcome to the board.
This is a question often asked by new comers to the competition board. Can I first say the search function is your friend. Please use this before posting it saves sarcasm mode responses in regulars and duplicating competition posts.
In answer to your question, 42, but I am both sarcastic and have a tendency to lie. My newt is much more reliable and she says 103 but she can not count.Rational judgement, now, at this very moment.
Virtuous action, now, at this very moment.

Willing acceptance - now, at this very moment - of what you can’t change0 -
