Thank you all so much for your replies. Would of replied before but I also use some of my spare time as a pre-school volunteer committee member - so will be comping to fingers crossed win the pre-school some new toys/ stationary etc. For me a fabulous holiday in the sun, but more likely a tube of toothpaste or something!! I will be doing this as purely a hobby and nothing more than. If i win anything thats great and if i dont then i have only missed out on watching some rubbish on TV anyway!!0

I've been entering competitions pretty regularly since 1988, in the days when you had to go round the supermarkets and pick up the leaflets, and won all sorts of things from a couple of cars, and holidays to exotic places, to a bar of chocolate voucher or a plastic apron. I enter about 1000 to 2000 competitions a month and last year won 26 prizes worth about £2200 in total. However it is all down to luck for the majority of competitions; a bit less so if there is an element of skill and judging. You read about 'professional compers' - I seriously doubt that anyone can make a living out of purely entering competitions. During the mid-2000's I won absolutely nothing, nada, zip for about 3 years. As a hobby it is great and getting a sudden email or waiting for the postman to deliver a prize is a real buzz, and it is a hobby that costs nothing apart from a few hours per day; as I say to the wife, "Well it's cheaper than going down the pub every night, I'm at home here to be nagged at, and who knows, I might even win something you'll like!"0

I submit somewhere in the range of 1500-2000 entries per day (almost exclusively the click-to-win competitions). I always have a YouTube video playing in the background so I'm not bored senseless and it only takes an hour or so to submit all those entries. My best win is a 32" HD LG TV

I'd be quite interested in thoughts about the difference in wins (if any) between number of different competitions entered as opposed to multiple entries to the same competition.
As above, SpaceyKevin enters 1500-2000 times per day, presumably multiple entries over a week/month to the same competition, whereas although I may have a couple of multiple entries should a competition allow and it's a decent prize, I generally only enter once, perhaps up to 2000 different competitions per month. I tend not to do the Click to Wins.0 -

I would always take entries into 2,000 different competitions over 2,000 entries into just one.
One entry in a competition may produce a winning entry or a losing entry - 2,000 entries to one competition may still have a winning entry but is certain to have at least 1,999 losing ones.
If I have entered everything I want I may throw some extra entries at something but it is very difficult to make a worthwhile return on small prize (under £100) multiple entry ones.0 -

I have got into the routine of spending 45-60 mins every morning doing the magazine dailys. I then do 20 mins when I get in from work on whatever I see and then do anything from 30 mins - 2 hours doing comps in the evening. I enter whatever I see that I like the look of. I sometimes do the click to win ones but only if I've caught up and have time. Can enter anything from 200 - 2000 in a day.
Also try to do a few effort ones each week and buy one book of stamps a week and enter the 12 I feel I have most chance with per week. I've only been doing this for 2 weeks and yet to have a win but only a few competitions I've entered have actually finished so far!2016: mascot experience, 2 books, event tickets x2, walkers goodies, box subscription0 -
Only just started entering them, I work nights and it passes the time.
I'd say I maybe enter about 40 or 50 for the nights I'm "working".
I only enter for things I actually want like weekends away or a TV, yeah it means I've less chance of winning anything but i'm not wasting time entering for a book/dvd/feather duster/egg-timer that I couldn't care less about.
I steer clear of most of them though if they involve Daily entry/Rafflecopter/Gleam or Facebook....takes too long and to be honest I can't be bothered! lol0
