Are these temporary clubcards? Or are they registered to your address?
I'd imagine authorisation would be needed for anyone using a temporary clubcard from now on. If they enforce it that you need to present the clubcard when redeeming the voucher.0 -

They are for addresses that existed in cyberspace Flat 1a etc.I am firmly across the line. I won't impose my values on you if you keep away from mine.

Does Asda use unique barcodes?0

I'm guessing they're going to start promoting this all again as they would have had to spend a bit of money to tidy up their back end, and that'd be pointless just to sort out a crap price check that would have been better to just scrap.
If they're going to promote this again, then I'd say waves need to be made to show Tesco up for demanding private details from people just for them to get the same price (not even 10% cheaper) when they can do the same shopping in Asda without this intrusion of privacy.0 -
Especially as I have no doubt they would be making a profit out of all this new clubcard information they'll be getting.0

The only remaining issue is if the voucher is tied to the clubcard. I don't think this will be the case and the reason is this:
I spend other people's clubcard vouchers all the time. Family and friends and wobles. They have Mr this, Miss that, Mrs that on them and I use my own clubcard. I have never had a coupon rejected unless I didn't buy the product.
The final remaining question is do you get the cheapest price comparison or an overall?
Does this mean you've had 5 replies to 5 different email addresses to print ......
a) 5 different vouchers (different barcodes) but all for the same amount
b) the SAME voucher (same barcode) 5 times
or are these yet to come back ?
And was this receipt from a transaction where a clubcard HAD been used ?

I did a few tests..
its simple to guess a clubcard number and tested about 100 previous transactions to the ones I did last night. I used about 20 cards.. it will only work if the person would have got money back.
They look unique but then the one i posted never had a clubcard on it. as it was a direct link to a old voucher. the person that checked there old 5 vouchers would not have needed to input a clubcard number.
Take a look at this, this was a old voucher.. it was for £20 but now £10 it shows a long barcode but never had a clubcard

Also take a look at the voucher at the bottom

It used to show (as a £20)

Hi
Just for info - I have 2 vouchers for the same amount but 2 different receipts, that were submitted without a clubcard (before the new rules).
The new bar code - first 12 digits are different but the last 10 are the same on both vouchers. The last ten must determine the value of the voucher! Not sure what the first 12 stand for!0 -

b) The same voucher with the same number came back. See my post on the 11+ thread - I'll copy it here.
Some points about the new system that I have deduced with evidence this morning.
1) For those wondering if you need a clubcard that matches the receipt to input it it, the answer is NO - you merely need any valid clubcard (use one you find on a receipt blowing in the wind - once you've guessed the last digit.
2) There is no minimum of 8 items as yet
3) Total basket will be compared so make sure you target each item correctly. E.g A bottle of pop costs 50p at Tesco but 25p at Asda and 75p at Sainsburys. A packet of crisps costs 50p at Tesco but 75p at Asda and 25p at Sainsburys. If you buy a bottle of pop and a bag of crisps you get nothing back. If, however, you buy 2 bags of cripss in 1 shop and 2 bottles of pop in the other shop you get 50p back both times.
4) You DO NOT need a clubcard to spend the voucher in shop
5) No matter what (valid) clubcard you use to generate a voucher, the voucher barcode will look EXACTLY the same i.e. it is not linked to a clubcard.
6) My fingers are tired
7) Vouchers are capped at £10
8) This list is not conclusive
HTHI am firmly across the line. I won't impose my values on you if you keep away from mine.
