I don’t carewhat you think stealing is stealing regardless of if you get paid apps for free from Google, apple or anyone else. I will personally not do that on any phone including Android. If I can’t afford something I will not buy
Well that is a lie, your recent thread about Barclays Pingit not working on rooted or jailbroken handsets prompted you to call the helpdesk.0 -
Guys - when dealing with thegoodman, you need to remember that it is very difficult for him to see any other point of view with his head stuck so far up his own a**e.
He seems to have forgotten he posted this
" Barclays Pinglit android app do not work with rooted os The app for Barclay Pinglit, must have heard of it in the news do not work with the rooted or non stock os.
When I telephoned the support for Pinglit, person said the reason is because rooted os is not safe because of modification by the 3rd party and some security function may haven been removed making the os unsafe. However the Barclays is looking into this.
So I would need to install stock rom if I want the app."0 -
So i try apps for free via installous & then pay for them if i like them/they work (updates are easier for one, for apps bought through iStore). If they're no good, they get binned.
OP, whilst jailbreaking itself is not illegal it certainly is illegal to download from installous - irrespective of whether you intend to eventually buy the app or no. Its a bit like nicking a dvd from a shop and then after getting caught, you tell the police that after watching the DVD you planned to return it back to the store :rotfl:
As for the iOS apps not working properly...read the app store reviews BEFORE buying the apps. Personally i've not had a single issue on my iphone 4S with apps but i can understand some apps may not work properly with iphone 3GS especially if not running iOS 5.
If you think that the same paid-for apps on iOS will be free on Android then think again! Do you really think that apps like Tom Tom, Cut the Rope etc will be free on Android?0 -
You can get refunds from Apple for non-working apps. Report a problem with the app: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1933
Are you saying that you have reported the app using this process, saying the app is non-functional with your non-jail broken iPhone, and you are not getting a refund? What's the response from Apple when they refuse to refund you?
I'm surprised you've had so many problems with apps. I've got 23.5gb of apps on my iPhone and 48.9gb on my iPad, all of which work. A couple of them have required the iDevice to be restarted before they would work the 1st time, and a couple have been made non-functional by updates but have been fixed with a new update a couple of days later.0 -

I sometimes wonder if people read the actual opening post. I will quote from itI think it's a con that there's no real refund system. In the real world if you buy a faulty item you get an exchange or refund.
I've only ever had 1 refund from Apple/iTunes. Some of these apps aren't cheap, so when they don't work, you want a refund!!
So is the Android scene any different? Do they actually allow you refunds? Are they more reliable than Apple for this?
Now I have been guilty of misreading posts and hold my hand up to that, but original question from OP seems pretty clear about the circumstances in which he wanted an answer.0 -
He or she has already said that he is testing the app and if they work, he or she will then pay for them to use it.
Regardless of what some say I will never agree to or encourage illegal activity. I may not like certain company or its product but this do not give me the right to take part in illegal activity.
Choice is simple if you dont like the way app store works or its policy move to a different brand.0 -

The OP is paying for the APPS though, otherwise he wouldn't require a refund would he?0 -

.
So, are you defending the legality of selling apps that don't work and then refusing a refund ???0
