When you say that, I'd previously heard a local college would fix your car with no labour costs, you just had to supply the parts.
Never looked into it, but might be worth checking out.0 -

my local college used to do that.. but down to some people claiming they scratched/damaged their cars they stopped doing it.. they only use their own practice carsSealed pot challenger # 10

Not bad, I'm going to get rid of my old Merc just because the OH wants a change.
It should be worth £400 no problem, I'll probably just break it though to save dealing with idiots.
Unfortunately the replacement looks like it'll be about £1300-£1500.
I'll be timing it with insurance renewals though, so that should save amendment fees.0 -
Well if you don't want to give details here, try the excellent autosh1te site for disposing your Merc.. They are hard to kill off completely.0

Just sold the primera I've been running about in for the last few months to the banger racers for £250. I paid £250 for it, rinsed the T+T off and spent a tenner on a tyre.
Pretty sure I lifted the bonnet at some point to put some screen wash in.Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?

My Saab is still going as well as the first day I got it in Feb 2013, although I am lining up a replacement should it be needed by MOT Feb 2015 and if the opportunity arises I may sell it before then as I have just taxed it for another 6 months so there is still some value in it- for someone!
I think I am going to try a small car next to see how much more money I can save.
I am looking forward to the day that a Toyota Prius falls below the bangernomics £1k staring point. At the moment they start at approx £1.8k.0 -
