    less to go wrong lee..

Whilst true - surely there's plenty of similar cars with bodywork in better condition and better spec? Just have to bide your time, and walk away from those that aren't such a bargain when you see them in the steel, so to speak.

oh yeah will be better out there.. but less electrical shizzle the better..
had the eml turned off on my megane code indicated it needed a pre cat 02 sensor but the light hasnt come back on after a week of using it so maybe the blowing exhaust what it had when i picked it up was causing it.. who knows.. checked the driveshafts and no knocks hmm wonder what it was....

Just had 2x Goodyear Eagle NCT5 fitted on the Saab for £60. They are part worns but look brand new so am very happy. £112.06 each new on Black Circles.

Just about to take the car on it first long motorway journey since I bought it in Feb, so hoping to better the 18mpg I have been getting all year on the short 3 mile town journeys that I do.
  • Pug 106 1.5 XLD for £495 - worth it?

It's my least favorite day of the year. MOT booked for 14:30. I have had a good look around the car and can see no issues, the tyres are all in great shape so fingers crossed.
Taking it to a place that just does MOT's and nothing else. Fingers crossed it will all be ok, only had two advisories last year to do with rear number plate and a small hole in the indicator lense but these haven't worsened since last year.
  • I got a 70s moped for £150, its cost another £25 to put on the road and is then only £30 MOT, £17 tax, and £60 insurance a year for a simple runaround. I'm rather pleased with that.

Dunno if you've missed to boat: Expect 65 mpg and one of the most agricultural driving experiences modern motoring has to offer!

Bangernomics taken a bit too far IMO.

MOT update. Fail. But I don't need to go and buy another banger as it only failed on one thing-

Offside inner front (wheel arch) subframe mounting prescribed area is excessively corroded.

Trying to find someone who can weld it for me then I shall be good for another year. Once the MOT has been issued I shall get the car serviced properly as it obviously a keeper. This is a shame as I already had another banger lined up- my Dad had offered me his Jaguar X type 3.0 for £700 as he wants a Merc. Shame.

It sold while I was still mulling it over. Either way someone got a cheap diesel. :)

jim. at least getting a welder in tow now will be handy if you ever take on an older X or S Type jag. Plenty of rot (think of Ka) hiding under those plastic covers.
