I've been at it again, this time keeping it for ourselves.
Paid £350 plus a couple beers for the car, needs MoT end of May and had 2 tires (£79 + VAT each) fitted earlier today. 104k miles, full dealer service history, and it's local car to me from new. Owned by someone in their 60s from new.
Apart from hating 3 door cars and manual gearboxes, I really like it already!

Pulls at 30mph in 6th, and averaging about 40mpg (town/B-road driving)
There again, I don't drive like the idiot anymore

That's not an ST badge on the back is it?!0

Yup, it's proper ST170.
The 40mpg is a mix of town and B-road driving, but it's happy to change gear at 1500rpm (and that is how I'm driving it), as it has torque of a diesel car.
There is no point to drive like idiot, only to halve efficiency

An ST170 for £350? Jammy buggr.
It's as I've always said though; take a modern high-output engine and drive it sensibly and it will reflect its efficiency in higher than expected miles per gallon.
I found the same years ago with modern (at the time) Jap bike engines and could wring 60mpg out of a GS850 if I sat at sedate speeds on the motorway. Boring as hell, though.0 -
I know I'm being a fool to myself, but I'll take that scrapper off your hands CKhalvashi for £360, cash!0

OK Lee, I'm out.
That isn't just great bangeromics, it is a sensational deal. You've bought the whole car for what you could expect to sell the wheels for.0
