    Hi All

Just wondering what company you use for breakdown cover for your old cars

    Emergency Assist

For our Saver and Premium membership levels, there is no restriction on the maximum age of vehicle. For our Personal based membership, this provides cover in any vehicle under 15 years of age.

We did once, they used one of the local independents (in the same way green flag, RAC, whoever do) so we got a known quantity and it was all ok.

After not getting the advisory tyres from last MoT until March this year, I've been good and gone and got this year's yesterday, so total spend on Fusion Junior is £1328. Will get the advisory shock absorber done in the next couple of months when I know I can be without the car for a day.
Well, I got the shock done last week for the princely sum of £81.26, so 3.5 years of ownership for £1410 and looking like a clean bill of health (barring any disasters) for next Mar/Apr MoT, so that'll take it to £1410 for 4 years, or £352 per year....that's not too shabby :D
It's February, so that's 4 years of Fusion Junior ownership :D Nothing else to report, and feels like it'll be A-OK for this year's MoT which it can go for from March 12th..so yes, £1410 for 4 years and still got a good few miles left in it yet. It;s lasted 6 months longer than Fusion Senior did, and still only has 116k on the clock (Fusion Sr had around 155k before the clutch gave up) so 155k is the target for Junior!! :D

OK, so last Friday 21 March was M-Day for Fusion Junior, and there was good news and bad news....

Good News - it passed again!! :D:D:D well, actually I had to put a £5 wiper blade on it to pass, but that makes a grand total of £1415 into it's 5th year with me...still runs like a dream and still great on the economy :)

Bad News - found a couple of patches that'll need welding before next year's ticket, awkward place where the brake pipes run. It'll cost £250 to put right, but it's not desperate...

So, quandry - this may be the last year for Fusion Jnr with me, but if it keeps running fine I may well get the welding done and have another year or two out of it. Or, I keep an eye on what comes up at a decent price and buy a replacement at any point through this year, and shift Jr on either private sale or scrap (which I think it's too good for but is less hassle ;) ) It owes me nowt, and if I just keep it for this year that'll be £1415 for 5 years motoring, or £283 per year for it's time with me. That's not shabby at all, well happy with it.

Which way will I go?? Dunno today, but I've got up to a year to  make my mind up :)
