  • You’ve done well to get 135k miles from a Korean car. Good luck with finding a decent automatic for £2k.
For that budget I would stick to manual for a start.

Mmm thought these Hyundais had a good reputation but maybe I’m wrong! The market’s changed so much recently so I may need to increase my budget. The ULEZ is a factor now too though I don’t have to drive into London - just like having the option. A lot for me to think about!

They’re built to a price and good for 100k. If you want longevity then Japanese cars are the best.
  • Thanks, I was thinking of Lexus, as I want comfort and quality, also an older car that won’t be too much hassle. When I bought the Hyundai I didn’t mind the high mileage as I knew it would have at least a few years left. But the years have gone quickly and here I am. Exciting starting to think of a change though!

Oh well....Fusion jr.'s MoT failed today, will take around £180 to sort out. But, not bad considering it's been hammered for 14k miles this last year, about double normal..

Got 2 x slow punctures, one on the MK1 Focus and the other on the MK3 and both on the offside rear too. Not good.

Just had a pleasant surprise - just checked the Fusion's MoT and it's not until mid-April when I thought it was March... however I will be taking it the month in advance just to make sure ;)

Total spend to date is...hang on...

£778 after the wheel bearing being done in Sept.

We'll see what this MoT brings, but not expecting much if anything.... at £30 p.a. tax, under £180 to insure and 60mpg it's deffo a keeper for a few more years :)
I’m predicting you’ll get it through for £105 including the test fee.
Quite a bit out in my prediction this time.

find yourself a decent part-worn place Lee, should get all 3 for £90, that's what my local is priced at :)
