MoT day for the £10 Fusion   :pensive:  Think it needs a wheel bearing, but apart from that should be ok. It'll be the third MoT I'll have put it through, and another year of very low-cost motoring becons.....fingers crossed ;)

...and....it passed!!!  Couple of advisories - the wheel bearing, and the exhaust which has been an advisory since I got the car. So that's another year in the bag...and I just renewed the insurance on 1st March for £162.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...this has turned out to be the best bangernomics car I've had to date :)

Glad to hear it passed. Sounds like you’ve done really well with that one. What do you think will replace it or don’t you have a preference?

Dunno...it really depends what's round at the time....I need a higher seating arrangement for Mrs.G-J - could be another one of these if I can find one when the time comes :)

In the current circumstances, my car does 0 miles as the Mrs uses hers for all shopping - half a mile way.
So are we allowed to take our cars for a run every few weeks to prevent seals gumming up and the tyres getting flat spots and the battery from failing?
With cars sitting on driveways, bangernomics has never made more sense than now.

Yes we are still allowed to drive.

Then the messages coming from the government seem to be mixed. Here's the RAC's take:
Using your car during the outbreak
As of 24 March 2020, the Government advice is to "stay at home and away from others" until further notice, apart from for essential reasons. Essential reasons are:
    - shopping for basic necessities, such as trips to the supermarket or other food stores, as infrequently as possible (social distancing still applies)
    - trips to pharmacies for any medical need
    - to provide care or to help a vulnerable person; and
    - travelling for work purposes, where the work cannot be done from home
The RAC advises drivers against all but essential travel.

Thats just advice, not the law. B&Q are open running a click&collect service and that is a 25 mile round trip.

Our 09 C4 Picasso is deceased. Written off by a loon while it was parked outside the house.

Paid £2k for it 4 years ago. Minimal maintenance,1 break down (fly by wire throttle replaced at £200) and got £1940 as a write off from the insurance (once £200 excess is reclaimed)

How bad was the damage? Could have bought it back and fixed it up if it was still a good runner.
