Evening all
I am going into hiding until payday (28th / 29th) i have gone so far over i cant even see the £15 i had budgeted. and so far over i cannot work out yet what i have spent.
Well def no spending for the next 4 days. and will have to work out a way of getting through the weekend.
Oh well. Not allowed to stress so need to be calm and relaxed about it. and concentrate on the next few days being NSD's.
Scotmum - glad things are a little better with FiL, make sure you get all the support you can for him and your MiL. It's likely to be a long and slow process. But hopefully he will make some positive gains. It must be so hard for you all. Lots of love.
LC - hope the discussion went well with the Dr and you have a decision. I guess the not knowing what is happening can be quite stressful.
Good luck with the rest of the week all

Hi guys
Thanks for asking about me - basically Dr told me it would be premature to go back to work just yet as I'm only just starting to feel better (i.e. like the new higher dose of tablets are kicking in) - and that it would be "counter-productive".
So he signed me off for another week.
Not thrilled about it. Work are fine though, and even said that they might be able to do something to help (I work for Europe's largest mental healthcare provider). Wish I'd known that back in September rather than sitting on NHS waiting lists all this time!!! Hey ho!
Anyway, Dr will ring on Friday as he isn't in on Monday (and I'm due back Tuesday) - he was saying something about a phased return to work, not really sure what that means but no point stressing about stuff till Friday when I speak to him. I was quite upset yesterday when heard I was signed off again, but then later I pulled myself together and thought, think of it like a free week off. I'm getting paid for it as I get 6 weeks full pay and 6 weeks half as I've been there over 3 years, and this is my 3rd week off (feels like 3rd month - I pity the unemployed now I really do!)
Just had a phone call while I was writing this from another friend at work, who asked my boss if I was ok to come tomorrow night to my friend who is moving to London's leaving do. He said yes but be prepared to answer questions from people. I want to go, so I'm going to say to people that it's personal if they ask why I'm off (which they ALL will). Just have to psych myself up...

LC, when I was off with post-natal depression for a month and went back to work, I phoned my boss before I went back and asked him to mention to the team NOT to ask me how I felt. He did, and when I went back to work on the Monday, they all just asked if I had had a nice weekend. It was great, as I was still feeling fragile and knew that I couldn't handle people asking me questions and 'being nice' so was much easier as they treated me like I hadn't even been away.
Maybe you could have a word with your boss and get him to tell them that you are off for personal reasons, so don't bother asking - might just make it easier for you
Hope you are okay todayWhen you were born, you were crying and everyone around was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying!:rotfl:

Hey LC
Glad to hear you are starting to feel better. I have heard of phased return to work as I know a few people that have done it at work. It usually means that you start working a 3-4 day week with reduced hours (say 10am-2pm) to get you back in the swing of things. I think it can really help people especially if they have been off for a while. It is a good thing don't be scared:D
I think I may have blown my budget today as I spent £4 on breakfast, £3 on lunch, £2 in the poundshop and £10 on fish and chips for dinner:(
Total £19
Total for the week £25 / £30 and it is only Tuesday :mad:Weekly Spend Challenge: £0/£30

MunniMuncha - that's quite an interesting way of doing it. The trouble is, I'm really trying to keep it on the downlow, although in the last week I've started to get texts from the people I'm more friends with at work, asking if I'm ok as they haven't seen me for ages. On the whereabouts list I'll be showing as Sick, so can't disguise that. Plus my boss isn't really a people person, and even if he did ask people not to ask me, loads would still, plus I think it would make it more of a mystery and then people would start talking behind my back and I'm sooo not up for that!
pp - thanks for clarifying. I agree it actually sounds like a good thing, just utterly confused as to how that would work! Is it the Dr who sets the hours or the company? And I guess I'd still get full pay until my 6 weeks are up, as I would be half on normal and half off sick? How confusing... think I'll just see what the Dr says on Friday! Brain fried!:rotfl:
Apart from being worried about tomorrow and the questions, I'm in quite a good mood today (about to go to bed to hopefully sleep though, as that's still MASSIVELY affected!). Although I was naughty and ate SIX pancakes with lemon juice and sugar. Yes, SIX!
Spends today - 99p in Aldi on pancakeshehe

Good Morning
LC - I was off for 9 weeks when I injured my back a couple of years ago and I went back to work on a 'phased return'.
You and your boss should sit down and work out what hours you feel would be best for you and the business, beginning with the fewest and over the coming weeks work back up until you get to normal. For me it was Wed/Thur/Fri 10 - 3 for a week, then added a day for the next week (same hours), then a four day week 10-4 and then a full week 10-4 then back to a normal start time (I finish at 4). I was on the pay roll at full pay.
That was just me though and it may vary from business to business but it might put your mind at rest a little
Yesterday I had a NSD for this challenge although I did do a little bit of shopping to get some essentials.
