Ok, thanks one and all for the advice. I've called Northampton County Court and they have told me this.
This isn't a CCJ, it's a claim, filed online by Euro Car Parks last week, the 16th of Feb. The reason why i haven't received any court papers is because they probably went to my old address, which Euro have CC'ed on their original letter, as well as my new address.
The court official has asked me to submit a defence, either via email or by post. The Court have now amended my address to the correct one.
I would welcome all advice on how to state my defence, and thankyou in advance.
Ok, post particulars when you receive notification from the court.0 -
I've got a few reservations with this.
peter questioned the 31 figure, and so do I. given that the question hasn't been answered, let me guess:
the OP (perhaps) parked 31 times in the park and rec'd 31 tickets. if this is right then the OP was asking for a robust 'response' from the PPC (that they've shot themselves in the foot with this one is welcome) but the general advice is not to tempt these scumbags into action by repeat parking.
I hope the OP successfully defends the case (if it gets brought). I hope the PPC retreats like a whipped cur. but 31? isn't that pushing things a bit?0 -

Torontoboy: You have made the same mistake the PPC is apparently making. Confusing the registered keeper with the driver.0

The court have emailed me the particulars, as suggested.

TOTAL OUTSATANDING £2590.00 I WILL PROVIDE THE DEFENDANT WITH SEPARATE DETAILED PARTICULARS WITHIN 14 DAYS AFTER SERVICE OF THE CLAIM FORM."0 -
Apparently they haven't realised they are not the Council and cannot claim against the registered keeper. Doughnuts. They obviously haven't a clue who was driving the car.
Are the typos yours, Memphis or is that how they're entered on the claim form?0 -
this was the other doc attached in the registered letter

Cut and pasted by the court official into email, and judging by the fact that one doesn't change into capitals when entering text, i would guess the typos are from ECP themselves.0 -
Your vehicle was parked longer than the maximum period allowed.
Okay its a free car park, where is the loss to the landowner ? Does ECP have any loss on this ? You should ask for the exact contract that exists to show that they can operate on this land, I am sure I read somewhere that only the landowner can claim in such cases.

Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
That should be a straightforward one to defend. As they are claiming the driver overstayed do they have any machines where a person can pay for additional parking?"You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"
